"My wife and I were very pleased by the plaster work that was performed in our home by Robert Dell'aquilla Plastering. The owner and his workers did great work on about 5 different areas of our house, ranging from holes that had been punched into walls from previous electrical work, damage that had been done during storms and leaking gutters, and cracks in some rooms due to subsidence. In each case, the work was done professionally and completely, addressing the issues and leaving each area looking like new. The employees were very experienced and skilled, making some difficult repair situations look amazing. They treated our home like their own, even repairing some minor issues they spotted that were not initially requested. All of the crew were diligent in cleaning the rooms and closet areas that had been worked on. We found Robert Dell'aquilla Plastering by searching and researching previous reviews. We were very pleased with the work that they performed in our home."

"After a spring hail storm damged my roof-I needed a new one. I got 3 estimates, with Ireland being the best and Tom being the most professional salesman. The job was delayed because of other issues and Ireland was very understnding, and willing to work with me, I am very happy with the entire project. Love the look of my new roof. Thanks Tom for all of your assistance."

"Hired Bucco's to do an emergency tarping when a tree fell on my house while waiting for insurance to approve a repair because they made a lot of promises that they'd be able to stop the water and get my roof "water tight". First off, they don't seem to understand what an emergency is because they took a week to first get out while it rained almost every day and I had water pouring through my roof. Once they finally got it on, it rained again the next and sure enough, water starts pouring through the roof again. I send them a text and they say "yeah, we'll send someone back out". Another week goes by while it rains every other day and they finally get out to adjust the tarp. Two days later, it rains again, and once again, water starts pouring through the roof into the house. Text them again, and they tell me "oh well, flat roofs are tricky" and then never come back out. Luckily another company was able to push me up on their schedule"

"If you are considering a kitchen/bathroom remodel please read this review. Our kitchen renovation project was started on May 7th. We are now on the cusp of entering the 5th month for this project and our kitchen is still not completed. To make matters worse I haven’t seen ANYONE from Brookside for a MONTH! We had sent an email to the construction manager and never received a response. The sad thing is that this was an ongoing experience during our remodel. They would work for a couple of days and then I wouldn’t see nor hear from anyone for a week +. (This happened way more then we would have expected). The only way I got them to show up was to continually call. I would have to call repeatedly to get my microwave hooked up. I would have to repeat the process to make sure someone was going to hookup our stove, plumbing, etc. I’ve paid 60K so far and I had to be a pseudo project manager! I now have my existing hardware floor cracking because we have been waiting for Brookside to finish the floor with a transition piece. I still have live wires exposed and holes still left in the wall. FOUR months and I still do not have all of my appliances hooked up in my kitchen. Cabinets that came in damaged still have not been replaced. It pains me to write this review but I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. This project has totally been mismanaged and communication has been nonexistent! I will say that the workers who have performed the work have been good to work with. The cabinets that we ordered we are happy with and Classic Rock, who performed the fabrication for the granite did an AWESOME job! (We did not have a conventional layout). If Brookside would have completed this project in a reasonable time frame (I was originally told they would be finished around the 4th of July) then I would have had a much more positive experience."

"Perfect. I took a big risk in not knowing Paul’s work in advance and now feel incredibly lucky his company did our job. Our cedar siding was taking a literal beating from woodpeckers so we knew our home needed re-sided with something more resilient. However we didn’t like the look of conventional non-wood options. After many painstaking internet searches I found a steel product that not only had wood texture but was also two toned to appear a weathered gray board and batten. Assembly is same as vinyl but I couldn’t find any professionals in my area willing to install the newer material I had found online - until I found Paul Miller’s roofing/siding company. He too had reluctance and rightly so. The materials took 3 weeks from order and offered little flexibility. But, he accepted the work and his crew blew me away with a finished product of steel siding, soffit, fascia, gutters and downspouts that face lifted my 40 year old house into a brand new looking house again. Seldom I had to ask to have something altered as the crew worked very quickly. But when I did, Paul’s guys were always gracious stating they wanted me to be happy. The most awkward was when I asked them to redo a front siding panel because I didn’t like the look of the J channel. The vertical panels come in 10’ lengths and my front siding was 15.5’. The crew said, ‘no problem’ and re-did the front panels by overlapping them. Unfortunately I didn’t like the overlapped appearance either. It left a visible 4’ horizontal seam line I couldn’t take my eyes off of. So I contemplated asking Paul to have his guys actually return the front siding back to the j channel when Paul suggested he would ask the manufacturer if they would do custom 16 footers for our project. That’s an extra mile move, there. Fabulous. He said worse they could say is ’no’. But Paul could have easily given me guff because of wanting the job to be done already or just taken me back to the j channel. Long story short the custom panels eventually got made and delivered and his crew tore down the front siding (again) and finished the job. There are no visible seams or rivets you typically see from metal board and batten designs. What we now have is a perfectly executed ‘QualityEdge Tru-Cedar’ stainless steel sided house that would fool anyone into believing it was real, weathered cedar. Paul had also suggested applying the new siding directly over our old wood siding which was absolutely the way to go keeping our insulation intact and increasing our R value. It was also a less expensive suggestion than ripping out the old. Between the siding layers Pauls crew wrapped the house with a moisture barrier. In the end I’m thankful Paul was not only willing to take on the challenge of working with a new material and manufacturer but also for being patient with us in wanting us to have full satisfaction and happiness with the finished product by asking the manufacturer to do something custom for us. His pricing was very fair and never did he try to gouge us for requesting changes. Lastly, those pesky woodpeckers can finally go ef themselves. Thank you Paul..! Chris Bokelberg Homeowner"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Charleroi, PA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
