"Palmer's refinished a 6ft x 3ft mahogany mirror that has been in my family for 70 years, and facilitated the replacement of the glass. The job went very well and I'm really happy with the result. They picked up and dropped off, stayed within the quote, kept me posted along the way, and only required four days to do it. I absolutely recommend Palmer's and would use them again, maybe for an antique cedar chest my family has had over 90 years. I would trust them with it."

"Oracle Renovations were phenomenal contractors. Considering having a kitchen done before Thanksgiving and Christmas. They delivered exactly what they promised that we will have a working kitchen before Christmas. The General Contractor is well knowledgeable and how he scheduled all work sequentially worked so well in a proper fashion that we always had a functioning kitchen. The General Contractor and all the subcontractors that worked on the kitchen remodeling were always available and provided good sound advice when we needed their input. The owner of this business has good customer service. He always attended to our needs regarding the project and always told the different staff working on the project he wants the customer to be happy so he ensured the work was done to perfection. This business is extremely professional and have good technical abilities and craftsmanship compared to a lot of similar businesses. I have dealt with different remodeling businesses that failed to execute, so I am very pleased with Oracle services because they executed and surpassed our expectations. My husband and I will definitely hire them again for future project."

"Bill is the best! I cannot praise his work highly enough. We originally hired Bill and his partner to build a wall-length built in bookshelf. He was very easy to communicate with and very helpful as we finalized the design. The end product was stunning! All of the finishing was perfect, which was really impressive, because the floor and ceiling were not at all level. So after that went so well, we hired him a few months later to build a custom kitchen larder. If anything, it's even nicer. Perfectly matches our design and is really high quality. Absolutely top notch work. You won't find anybody better. Not that you'll need to, but be sure to ask him about lions and tigers :)."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5+ Star Review for Oscar – Admiring Painting Services, LLC I cannot say enough great things about Oscar and his exceptional work. He came in to repair my ceiling, which had some challenging issues due to poor drywall taping from the original installation. What I thought would be a difficult fix, Oscar handled with absolute precision. He seamlessly repaired all the taping issues and then painted the entire ceiling throughout my living room, dining room, and kitchen. His workmanship is truly FLAWLESS. As a Realtor® in the Lake Norman and Charlotte areas, I’ve worked with many painters over the years—and I can say with full confidence that Oscar is the BEST. His attention to detail, professionalism, and pride in his work are unmatched. I will continue to use him personally, and he will absolutely be my go-to referral for clients. If you’re looking for quality, reliability, and beautiful end results, you will not be disappointed. 5 Stars + ALL THE WAY! Thank you so much!"

"Ernesto and his workers are the best contractors we have ever hired. I saw their work at Mail’n’More (Burnt Hills, NY), which is fantastic. Took a card, called Ernesto. He gave us an estimate the next day, we set a time two weeks hence, and he and his crew not only showed up exactly on time, but called from Lowe’s to say they’d be over soon. A four-day painting job took two days, and they cleaned thoroughly. Beautiful job, fair price, excellent workers!"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Charlotte, NC

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
