"We hired them to pour a stamped concrete patio outside Mockingbird Bakery in Rochester. We wanted to use someone local, and they did quality work and were very responsive to any questions we had. Mike Elder"

Tripp Landscaping has strived to provide top-notch landscaping service to the Springfield area. Its success is reflected in the many satisfied clients the business has seen over the years. \n\nLike most businesses, Tripp Landscaping had humble \nbeginnings. It started as a small operation owner/founder Mark Tripp began at his Springfield home in 1978. He had only a handfull of employees.\n\nIt wasn't long before the business grew too big for Mark's home, so he set up shop at his first retail location on 6th Street, Springfield. \n\nAs the company grew and evolved, Mark decided in 1992 to move the business to its current location on Woodside Rd., in Springfield. Tripp Landscaping currently includes a nursery stocked with high-quality trees, shrubs, and perennials, in addition to an office where design creation and presentation take place.

"Steve is kind of like a bumbling used car salesman. He talks and talks, making promises he does not follow thru on. If you give him an hour for an appointment, plan on two. Plan on lots of stories. We hired Steve for some patio and landscape work in 2018 after talking with a half dozen or so contractors. We selected Steve because he had vision. We gave him some creative space and asked what he would do. He drew up some plans and a quote. We decided to go for it. When Steve and crew planted our landscape items in October, some of them looked dead on arrival. Steve assured us the plants would come back in the spring, and if they didn't, he would replace them. They didn't and he wont return phone calls or texts. (It is now mid June, calls began in April) He also said he would bring more dirt for a grade issue. He didn't. While on site, the crew took existing landscape stones that I had to ask to be returned. I don't think they were the same stones... they definitely don't look the same. Our work was in the back yard, these stones were not. We misjudged our measurements and had extra trees planted in a different location because they wouldn't fit (and Steve couldn't take them back). They didn't make it thru the winter because they don't like dog urine-- something I feel like Steve should've recommended against their location with our pets (we specifically asked about items that were dog friendly AND he met the dogs). It seems as if there is little communication between Steve and "the office" (his wife, Brenda) or they use this as a good cop/bad cop routine? Steve stated he could work out some financing for the last 3rd of our bill, but we were able to pay in full without financing. We had some extra deck work done outside the original bid. This last work was less than 1/10th of our total bill, yet Brenda called relentlessly for the payment. The first time she called we hadn't even received a statement yet! When we called them out for this behavior, we fell out of favor and stopped getting returned calls. So, no replacements for 5 or 6 dead plants, no dirt to fix the grade up to the patio. The work was fine, but service after the sale is non-existent. Please don't reply to this message, just return my calls!"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Chatham, IL

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
