"Pretty good. You get the personal service of dedicated lawn care at the price of those mediocre national franchises."

"I called them in March and explained that we already had someone who would do the initial weeding and mulching in the spring and we just needed somebody to come on a regular basis such as every two weeks during the summer and weed flower beds and trim shrubbery. Mr. Pugh said yes, they could do that and their rate was $35 an hour. He wanted to send someone out to get an initial look at my property. So we then had an appointment with a pleasant young man who arrived on time and looked over our yard, giving some helpful suggestions on care of boxwoods, etc. I made sure he understood that we already had someone lined up to do the initial weeding and mulching, but I said he could give a price for that also in case our regular man didn't show up. Upon leaving, he said I would receive an email with their prices. I received their email, which listed what I thought was a high price for the initial cleanup and some one-time services, and then quoted an hourly rate of $40 for regular maintenance plus travel time. I called again and spoke with Mr. Pugh, reminding him that he had quoted $35 an hour in our earlier phone call. He said okay, if that's what he said before, then he'll charge me $35 an hour and no travel time since they're close by. Then he said actually, after thinking about it, coming every two weeks is probably not a good fit for them. He said they like to do the whole nine yards including the initial work and then come every week for a monthly fee. I reminded him that I had made it very clear in our first phone call what I wanted, and he apologized and said he didn't think it through at first. So both he and his representative were pleasant, but this whole thing amounted to a good chunk of my time wasted, between phone calls and the appointment with his representative. I chose not to rate them with a "D" because I sense that they might in fact be good to work with if one's needs match what they want to do. I just wish Mr. Pugh had "thought it through" before putting us through all of this."

"RVA Lawn Care has provided our home with an array of services. We have continuous lawn maintenance from RVA LC, and we continue to see great results from their work. We most often use their lawn cutting service, however they have also removed trees and leaves from the property, and have also cleaned out our gutters."

"Greener Days Lawn and Landscaping comes every two weeks during the grass cutting seasons and does phenomenal work mowing and edging the yard. We have a very difficult yard especially the back which is filled with tree roots. We began our relationship with Greener Days in July of 2012 for complete yard care from mowing to edging to fertilizing to aerating to seeding. Prior to our relationship with Greener Days, we had one of the big national lawn care companies; but after a year with little results and a damaged dogwood, we parted company with them. When Greener Days visited in July 2012, they promised results by October - and they DELIVERED! By October 2012, our grass was noticeably greener and some of the bald spots were beginning to fill in. We had lush grass growing by the summer of 2013, even among the tree roots fanning out from the pin oak in the back yard and in the problem area in the front yard between the oak and magnolia trees. Our small yard (.25 acre) has a pin oak, water oak, three pines, a classic oak, magnolia, and dogwood; and even with all the challenges of shade and roots, Greener Days has absolutely excelled. We have had a trouble free experience, and Scott Kirby and his crew are wonderful to work with. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for lawn care in the Richmond area. <br />"

"Monthly lawn fertilizing and weeding began April 2019. Some weeds disappeared but spider weeds were never destroyed and cancelled the service in October 2020. Overseeding and aeration was done well and grass did grow but the grass in the sparse areas of the yard didn't grow well. I have clay soil and no one from the company discussed with me how to adjust the composition of the soil for better grass growth."

"This is a second hand account as I was at the hospital with my sick my mother. He met my aunt, they looked over the lawn discussed what was to be done and agreed on a price. She was impressed with his promptness and professionalism. She then joined me at the hospital. Later when we returned home the yard was perfect. I can't remember the last time the yard had looked so good. My mother will be so happy when she sees it."

"Bartlett Tree Service sent a certified arborist to my home to assess my situation and provide a quote. Their arborist, Greg Crews was punctual, professional and gave me a detailed tutorial on the health of a tree we were trying to save, how to best protect the tree when we paved over some of the tree roots and gave a very competitive bid to treat a diseased portion of the tree. While I did not end up contracting Bartlett to do the work, I was very impressed with the their service and I would not hesitate to use them in the future. <br />"
