"Overall our experience with A&M was very good. The estimator was nice, professional and very genuine. He had some good tips and recommendations, which is how A&M won the project over another company whose estimator just seemed shady. Despite a long wait (due to very crazy fence demand everywhere), they met their quoted install time to the week. We actually had to sign the contract on the fence before we even closed on the new house because lead times everywhere are long. We were expecting delays, but they were on time. We did have one bad hiccup during the project, in that an installer inadvertently cut the power line from our house to our detached garage. This was especially bad as we have a full concrete patio and walkway, which meant the only way to repair it without digging up (and re-pouring) concrete was to trench through our backyard from the house all the way to the rear and into the back of the garage. Suffice it to say, it was an unexpected expense. Now, you can always tell a good company from a bad company when things go wrong. They could have walked away and refused to do anything to help mitigate the damage, as the line that was cut was a private, unmarked line that we didn't know existed, they didn't know existed and isn't marked by Julie. It was within their contract rights to do nothing and leave us unhappily on the hook for a huge expense that wasn't our fault either. Thankfully, they found a lower cost electrician (who did it the same as our electrician would have) and shared some of the cost to repair it. It was still an expensive repair, but we think resolved fairly for both sides. And, in the end, we do now have a nice, new BEAUTIFUL fence that our dogs appreciate."

"SP Fence installed my front and side fence. They quoted me a great price and, more importantly, they spent a lot of extra time making sure they got it just right, and the quality surpassed my expectations. I am picky, and this company delivers."

Small jobs welcome

"I moved to my house in Elmhurst 4 years ago which has an existing fence. Part of my fence blew down so I reached out to multiple fence companies about repair options. Of the companies I reached out to, First Fence was the only one that got back to me and had a consultant on site that day. When they came back for the repairs, the team was very professional, cleaned up and was as if I never had an issue to begin with. I highly recommend using First Fence and will only using them personally moving forward."

"I needed a new fence installed. The sales process was straight forward and not pushy. The time for the job being done was shorter than quoted. They did a great job explaining and showing us where the fence would go and how it would look. They really took the time to complete a quality project and at a very fair price. I would reccomend L & J construction to any of my friends and family!"

"They responded with the quote quickly & even did aerial view of the fences around me so they knew what was in my area, so I was a little taken back when they gave me a quote attaching my project to the neighbor's fence. The pricing seemed reasonable until they told me they couldn't give me the color I wanted until I changed to a wood fence. This means they did not plan to purchase the materials I needed for my job, I was being given what they had in stock."

FAQs for wood fence repair projects in Chicago Heights, IL

The time it takes to install a swimming pool fence varies depending on the project's complexity. A simple installation can be completed in about two hours. However, if your project involves concrete work, regrading, custom installations, or challenging terrain, it could take up to two full days. Each additional factor increases the labor and time needed to ensure your fence meets safety standards.

Yes, installing a lock on your pool gate enhances safety by preventing unauthorized access. A self-closing, self-latching gate with a key-lock mechanism provides strong protection, helping to keep children and pets safe. Securing your pool gate adds an extra layer of security and offers peace of mind when using the pool area.

A pool fence requires a specific height to secure the pool area. In most states, the fence must be 48 inches tall; some regulations require 60 inches for enhanced safety. Checking local building codes guarantees compliance with these height requirements. A taller fence strengthens protection and improves the overall security of your pool area, ensuring it meets stringent safety standards.

Mesh and tempered glass are among the safest pool fencing choices because their design and smooth surfaces make them resistant to climbing attempts. They provide consistent, rigid barriers that prevent unauthorized access to your pool area. These materials ensure optimal safety for children and pets. In addition, incorporating a pool safety net further enhances protection and addresses additional security concerns, ensuring that your pool remains a safe environment for all users.

Pool fencing requirements vary by local, state, and federal regulations. In most states, installing a pool fence is mandatory for safety and insurance purposes. Ask your pool fence pro for local regulations or check with your local planning department to understand the specific height and design requirements for your area. Complying with these regulations ensures legal compliance and enhances safety.
