"Guys were very efficient and did a great job explaining the process. The returns were filthy but the after pictures looked like new duct work. They also cleaned up our dryer vents and took the panel off the back and cleaned it up as well. I highly recommend Stanley Steemer. "

"Very well. I was very happy with the results. I felt that the fee was reasonable, though I don't remember exactly what I paid at the time. The person I talked to when I made the appointment, Michael, was very helpful and answered my questions and concerns regarding pet odor on the wall to wall carpeting. I will call them again when the carpets need cleaning."

"Could not have been better in every way. Professional, courteous, punctual, neat, clean, The equipment installation looks like a 'sculpture' (in the attic). Outdoor heat pump installed on a new mount and ground leveled by the installer. They even credited the price for a new pan (attic) that the installer said our old one was very good and did not need to be replaced. Butler did all the warranty registration and mailed the documents to us. 10/10/10 parts, labor, pump."

"The two technicians were knowledgable, very competent, and professional. They carefully explained everything they did. When they were done they explained how things worked and how to maintain the system. They cleaned up everything before they left. We are very happy with the quality of the equipment and the quality of their craftsmanship."

"PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT! CUNDIIFF provided outstanding sales and installation. <br /> I worked on this project all summer before I let the contract. <br /> WHAT TO BUY? <br /> First off, How efficient should you buy? If you read the advertisements, you should buy the highest SEER-rated system and then it will be so efficient the power company will send you a check each month from all the savings the new system generates. Yeah, right. Thankfully, the power company serving my Florida home is REALLY helpful and prepared actual cost savings for all SEER ratings. http://www.fpl.com/residential/energy_saving/pdf/r170_res_ac_buying_guide.pdf Download it fast, after you see HOW LITTLE high SEER-rated heat pumps save in electricity costs and compare it to the cost difference for the high SEER units, you too will see that payback in cost savings will take longer than any unit is rated to last (10 years.) So I suspect the Air conditioner manufacturers are going to make FPL take down this guide, after all, they want to sell the fluff and bells and whistles at high prices. But to cut to the chase, buy the lowest SEER rated (currently SEER 13) heat pump from a quality manufacturer (I've run Carrier since 1965) and you will get 98% of the current efficiency available at MAXIMUM cost savings. Also, the newer high efficiency units require electronic technology to make the systems operate more efficiently, and quite frankly, the parts that are going to break on the new tech systems are the circuit boards and other electronic gizmos. The outside compressor and air handler motors are going to go the distance on both the cheap quality-manufacturer systems and the most expensive systems. <br /> WHERE TO BUY IT? <br /> Buy quality, cheaply. Carrier, Trane, Lennox are all high quality manufacturers with dealers serving the Roanoke Valley. You can read the "daily nickle saver" tabloids and find cut-rate systems; but if you really read the online complaints, you will learn that most problems come from shoddy workmanship on the installations. That is where Cundiff really shows it's star quality. A senior member of the Cundiff team will come to your house to give you the estimate. A senior installation expert will then come out to review your entire system, including ductwork, suggest improvements to the existing installation if any and finalize the install. The team that comes to install you system is first rate, professional, helpful, and keeps the worksite (and your home both inside and out) clean and free of debris. It is a major undertaking to reinstall your heating and cooling system, and Cundiff makes it painless. <br /> FINAL THOUGHTS <br /> You got this beautiful new energy-efficient heat pump system installed. The first time you cut on the heat, you smell the unforgettable smell of electric resistance heating coils firing up! What in the world is going on!!!! you bought this system to get away from the sky high cost of electric resistance heating. You question the technician and learn that heat pump manufacturers are very sensitive to the fact that heat pumps blow ("cold") air. It really isn't cold, it is 91 degrees Fahrenheit and it just feels cold because body temp is 98 degrees. So, to fool customers, they have the electric resistance coils come on to make the air feel warm when the system first cuts on. The electric coil heat eventually cuts off when the house gets up to desired temp, but better (cheaper) for you to tell the tech to program the thermostat to make sure the coils DON"T cut on unless the house is really cold (4-5 degrees below desired temp) Also a programmable thermostat is INEFFICIENT for a heat pump system. Better to let the system get up to desired temp and stay there, the heat pump will run much less than if it is trying to vary the temp by several degrees every day. <br /> Thats about it. Cundiff was simply the cheapest bid of quality heat pump manufacturer's equipment installed in professional manner, of all the bids I requested. They also have an outstanding maintenance service team with prompt first responders if a problem occurs in the out years. I am pleased to recommend them for your consideration <br />"

"Ordered the health scan report to get a comprehensive analysis of our water beyond the suspected problem of bacteria. The sample kit arrived within a couple days. The results took about a week and a half. The results even identified the species bacteria and yeasts and included information on each."

"I had been sick since November of 2015 with breathing problems when I contacted Green Home Solutions. <br /> <br /> It was determined that I had a mold issue.  The drain pipe on the furnace stopped up and when I turned the furnace on for the winter in November mold spores filled my house. <br /> <br /> Green Home Solutions, Brian....came out and did the remediation <br /> <br /> He did a fantastic job getting rid of the spores. <br /> <br /> I wasn't convenienced that the company could do what I was told, <br /> Since I was still having breathing problems months later. <br /> <br /> Brian came out and we did another test for spores and I have no mold in my house. <br /> <br /> Thanks to the kindness of Brian Brady and his company. <br /> It worked amazingly well....I will always be a spokes person for Green Home Solutions. <br /> <br /> Thank you Brian."

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Christiansburg, VA

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
