"We have used Halo roofing twice in the past 3 months. In January we had a leak, which they came and repaired, successfully. In March, we developed another leak, on a completely different area of our roof, and they have just completed the repairs today. Ron Schwartz came out both times to give us an estimate. He used a drone to take pictures of our roof, and then used those photos to explain the problem and give us a quote. The same crew came out both times. They worked hard, cleaned up after themselves, and were respectful and pleasant to have around. Most importantly, they fixed our first leak, and I assume the second leak is now also fixed. We found Halo Roofing to be responsive, effective, easy to work with, and we would call them again should the need ever arise. Note: first job cost $2085, and second job cost $6960."

"The installation of our new ceiling lights was done efficiently and meticulously. They installed them on the weekend and were so thorough, we didn't even know they had been there, except our office is bright again! We will definitely hire them again for our future projects."

"Dave was the estimator and his crew came on time to complete the work as agreed. The work was done fine but by the end of the job and also end of day, the crew did not clean up very well. I had roof tile pieces and debris all over around the house. It took me quite awhile to clean up. I'd mentioned this to Dave and he immediately asked if he can send the same crew back tomorrow to clean up, but I've already cleaned up. A few days later, I noticed a cap from one of the pipe from the roof was blown off and I don't think it has to do with the prior roof work. I'd asked Dave, if he was in ever in the neighborhood to stop by and put the cap back on. He didn't hesitate and did that. The experience would be a perfect and quot;Aand quot; if it was not for the cleaning up issue. I think this company does try to go out of their way to please the customer. I would use them again. <br />"

"<p>In 25 years this is the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. <br /> The whole process started with our upstairs toilet overflowing. Unfortunately this happened without the knowledge of anyone in the household and occurred just as we were leaving the house for a 4 hour shopping trip. When we came home the bathroom and most of the downstairs area was flooded. We reported this to our insurance company and were able to get the water mitigation and demolition completed with one of their suggested contractors. We then spent 8 weeks working with a couple of contractors trying to come to an agreement so we could get the repairs done. Even our insurance company was frustrated with the poor communication and effort these contractors exhibited. Just when we were ready to give up on ever getting the repairs completed, someone from work referred us to Builderzz.<br /> I called Builderzz that night and spoke with Yoav Arielli who goes by Joe. We agreed to meet the next night. When Joe came to give his estimate, I shared the insurance estimate with him to help ensure that he didn't miss quoting anything. Joe did a quick review of their estimate and said that he felt that the price they were estimating on many of the repairs we needed were overstated. He was confident that he could give us an estimate well within the allowance we had received from the insurance company. By the time we finished our meeting, my wife and I were sold on Joe and his company. We agreed before he left to get the work done by Builderzz. We expected to have to wait a week or two before getting started but Joe said he could have two members of his team out the following day! My wife and I were going to be away at work so we arranged for my 81 year old mother to be home to let them in at 8:00 AM and to stay with our dogs while we were away. By the time we got home at 6:00 PM, the two workers and Joe were still there! We were amazed to find that they had not only installed all of the drywall, but had also installed the recessed lighting. My mother later told me that Eliseo, the worker who had been working in the kitchen, worked pretty much non stop. The next day was a Saturday and these guys don't seem to ever rest. Once again, they were at our house all day, prepping the drywall, texturing, removing wallpaper. Eliseo in particular is an artist. By the end of the day our kitchen looked tremendous. And Joe was a presence as well visiting or calling on a regular basis to make sure everything was going along smoothly. </p> A couple of days later, when the kitchen was ready for sanding and primer, I called Joe to make sure our appointment was still on schedule. Of course, he said, asking if we had chosen our vanities, offering to pick them up himself if we needed his help. <br /> In an effort to save money my wife and I decided to help with the painting. We worked with Daniel and he was a real pro, offering suggestions to help improve the outcome. <br /> Joe and Builderzz have gone above and beyond numerous times and in ways we didn't expect and we highly recommend them. We'll certainly use them again."

"Excellent! I could not have asked for a better crew. JT, Shaun, Pedro and Kayla were my direct contacts and all were very professional. Western Pacific Roofing came to the rescue just before this last big rain. They were not prepared to repair my roof upon first observation, however, they were able to secure the exposed area so as not to allow further damage from the impending rain storms. We survived the rain, they returned the next business day after the rains. Roof is repaired and I’m completely satisfied with my overall experience. Western Pacific Roofing has become my go to company for all of my properties’ roofing needs..."

"We found Landmark construction energy crew, after being frustrated in the past from other contractors. From the initial meeting that we had with Charlie, we were impressed. Their values of customer satisfaction and their deliver everything they said. Charlie was the manager of the work and he was on time for all the meetings that we had with him. He was very straight, kindly and motivated to be invited into our house. He came back and took all the measurements that he needed for the kitchen, asked us many questions about what we would like to include in the new kitchen and 3 days after, he brought us a 3D design for us to look at and see how it will most likely look like. It was exciting to see how fast they could generate a nice design. Charlie knew what he’s doing and we were sure he has done this type of jobs many times before. Their prices are reasonable. We wanted our kitchen finished as soon as possible, so we agreed with Charlie to start the following week. That gave us little time to buy all the appliances, hardware, countertops, tiles Etc… Charlie personally went with us to 2 showrooms where we picked out our tiles and countertops. He also helped us to search and buy all the options for the (sink, faucet, hardware and more…). To be honest, I was probably a nightmare type of work. We moved out of our place during the month of the remodeling and we were a little worried that something would go wrong and we would end up on a terrifying remodeling show. Now after this remodeling is over, we can say clearly that is nothing to worry about when Landmark construction energy crew are working at your house. Their workers was clean, friendly, willing to answer questions. I discovered that Charlie visits the job site every few days, but he too sincerely cares about your home. He always called regarding the schedule, timeline or if there was a problem that need to be solved. We asked for changes to the electric wiring after the tiles have been installed. Would I recommend them to others? Absolutely yes. We will refer this company to all our friends."

"The owner of Handyman Unlimited is a charming and charismatic guy.  He has good ideas and seems genuinely interested in doing an excellent job.  We had used Handyman Unlimited for a laundry list of household repairs on our 70 year old home, and the worker who was sent, Walter, was a great problem-solver and technician.  So, we didn't hesitate when the proposal for the bathroom remodel was presented.  Great workers, good follow-through and beautiful design ideas.  What could go wrong? <br /> Well, the company is stretched so thin that the promise that scheduling would be continuous and the entire job would take 2-3 weeks was not possible.  We had days when there were workers tripping over each other and days when somebody showed up unannounced and then couldn't do the work that he was scheduled to do.  We had problems with materials; we went to the vendors where the owner sent us to pick out fixtures and tile and then he didn't place the orders until the demo was started, only to find out that there were delays on the floor tile, delays on the faucet set.  The electrician picked up the materials, dropped them off without checking the cartons and when he came back to do the installation, there were parts wrong or missing. <br /> Some of the tradesmen were brilliant: Robert, who does dry wall, Moses, who does tile work -- so skilled, so caring, really great to have them in the house. <br /> Some -- not so much.  The painting subcontractor sent a team of painters who were obviously being paid by the hour, not the job. They were also obviously being charged for materials; they didn't want to lay plastic down to cover the stairs and there was a lot of screaming on a cellphone about, I think, quantity of paint.  They spent over 9 hours painting a bathroom area that should have taken much less time. <br /> The plumber was in completely over his head.  The house was 70 years old when Tom came and bid the job and it was 70 years old when the plumber showed up.  The plumbing was 70 years old.  Still is. And yet the plumber didn't seem to be able to solve any of the problems that came up.  He installed the new whirlpool tub, filled it with water and then discovered that the drain was blocked. He bailed the tub out and left.  We never saw him again.  Good thing we had a really competent plumber who has worked in this house for years;  he came over and solved the problem.  I would never have believed that Handyman Unlimited was responsible for the charges to clear that drain no matter who cleared it.  But to just leave with the problem unresolved and then to not hear from the company first thing the next morning was inappropriate. <br /> Like I said, the owner is charming and charismatic.  However, until he finds more tradesmen, and better plumbers to send to your remodel job, I would look for somebody else. <br /> Having said all that, the bathroom is GORGEOUS!   <br /> The 2-3 week job took 8 1/2 weeks.  Don't know if that would be considered normal for a remodel, but we didn't move walls, we just put in a new tub and new tile.  Maybe it was so disruptive because this is the en suite bathroom in our master bedroom, so the construction zone was our bedroom. <br />"

"We had Ocean Seven Builders redo our roof after a small leak turned into a bigger problem. Ron was the one we dealt with, and he just felt easy to talk to from the start. No pressure, no upselling, just explained what made sense. The crew showed up when they said they would and worked pretty steadily through the job. What I noticed most was how clean they kept things?no nails or trash left around. The roof looks great and we?ve had zero issues since."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Cima, CA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
