"Sabino was great to work with. He was professional and thorough when initially inspecting roof. He completed a major job with tear off of layers of asphalt and cedar shingles. He installed the new roof with quality products. Most importantly he worked well with us in a honest manner when issues arose to rebuild a chimney and replace beams on a rotting porch. His prices were very reasonable. He did a solid job cleaning up the area when finished. It is never an easy experience to have an old roof torn off and replaced, but Sabino and his workers made the experience positive."

"Ed replaced all of the baseboard, door and window trim in my condo. He was exceptionally detailed and skilled in his work, and it shows in the outcome. He took his time, made sure all of the cuts fit perfectly, and that the whole project was connected. Not only is very detailed and particular, he is professional and personable. I highly recommend him."

"Dalton did an excellent job installing a new exterior door in the garage. He was on schedule and on time and the job was completed as expected. Well done! I’m thinking of the next project for Dalton to work on for me."

I’ve worked in commercial carpentry for 3 years with the union. Decided to switch to remodeling and worked for a company called Cortese Construction for the last 3 years. There I learned how to renovate both large and small kitchen and bathrooms. I can set cabinets, install LVP flooring, tile, hang and finish drywall, paint, install windows and doors, trim, and framing. I can work in the Erie and Niagara county areas.

"Petar and his crew did a great job. He responded to my phone call right away and in only a few days he visited my house and gave me an estimate of the work. We worked together to get a start date and on that date he and his crew were here promptly. Everything was sealed off because the popcorn ceiling removal is so messy and at the end of the day everything was cleaned up, vacuumed and put away. He even helped me pick the colors I chose to use. At the end of the week the job was done ahead of time and beautiful. The ceilings turned out better than I could have imagined and you would never know they were once "popcorned". It looks like a brand new house. They even painted the inside of the exterior doors. Petar is very professional. I would recommend him to anyone who needs painting or drywall work done in their home."

"The project took just under a month and ended exactly on deadline, as Randy (the owner) had said he could do. Such construction, especially of a kitchen, is always a pain for the homeowners -- but in this case, the more so because we have six cats and I work from a home office, and I and the cats were ensconced during the day behind three floor-to-ceiling baby gates blocking the hallway out of the bedroom wing of the house, to keep the cats in the house and out of the way of the workers.
Randy was very aware of and sympathetic to both the physical and emotional disruption such work causes, and did whatever he could to make things easier for us. He is very knowledgeable, precise, organized and trustworthy, and he kept in communication with us daily. We enjoyed getting to know him, along with the couple of main guys who were here every day, plus others who came and did their specialties and left.
This was an expensive job, and cost more than we had hoped to spend before we started, but once we agreed to the work (I myself redesigned the kitchen) and the cost, Randy stuck to it religiously. However there are inevitably a few glitches that come up in such a job, but that didn't add to the cost, and when such things did come up he always remained calm and took it in stride -- and devised alternate solutions, if or when necessary. He also went above and beyond the contract in several ways, which he of course didn't have to do, but for which we were thankful.
We would highly recommend Randy and his company, and in fact already have to several other people. It's probably possible to get the extensive job we had done done cheaper, but cheaper isn't always better, especially in construction."

"I made the right choice when I hired Deanna & Robert. They responded quickly to my request for a quote. They were excellent painters who worked well together. They always had a pleasant attitude, it was a pleasure to have them work in my house. They were neat & quick but did a great job and their prices were reasonable. It's nice to know that people still take pride in their work which they do. I would definitely hire them again. Thanks of a great job."

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Clarence, NY

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
