"This regards a huge repair job after a pipe burst in our rental condo. It did happen a couple of years ago (December 2014) but it remains in my memory as a truly positive experience. The water destroyed the drywall in several rooms. We contacted Gary through Home Asvisor Handyman for the repairs. He contacted us soon after. When he arrived little did he know we actually had several projects that we needed done so we could sell the condo. Gary listened to our needs and then organized how the projects would be completed. The projects included the drywall repair for the living room, dining room, repair of the pipe that burst, added an access door to the plumbing area where the busted pipe occurred, installed tile flooring in the kitchen, replaced all the cabinets in the kitchen, installed a new kitchen light fixture, organized the replacement of the counter tops, reorganized the kitchen plan so the refrigerator and stove were not side by side, installed a new kitchen faucet and fixed the faucet after a couple of weeks when the interior piece was found to be defective, remodeled th entire bathroom tiling on the floor and walls, installed a new tub and fixtures, replaced the entry door and screen door, replaced all the interior doors, painted the entire place, fixed a longstanding problem for two side by side 8 foot windows by removing them and repairing the woodwork as well as refininshing the walls afterwards (in the middle of winter!--impressive). He helped us make decisions and worked with whatever selections we made in such a timely manner. He was in contact with us throughout the projects and provided us all the receipts, estimates, and final costs for each project that he undertook. He even would send picures as the projects progressed or were completed. He was so easy to work with and we appreciated him and hos work immensely! "Completely rebuilt our 26-year-old wood burning mason fireplace to bring it up to code. In the firebox completely removed fire brick from back and both side walls. completely removed clay flue and replaced with insulated stainless steel. This included adding a lever operated lock top damper and stainless-steel exterior flue cap. Much time was spent adding chamber tech 2000 parge coating to the smoke chamber. Kevon and his two workers were excellent. All details on steps being taken were clearly explained. All carpeting was protected from the front door to the work area in the family room. All debris was removed from the job site. This was a big job that took two days to complete. Am following the recommended wait time and break in steps to be taken. It is comforting to know that we have a completely safe fireplace that is up to code. Looking forward on having Doctor Flue perform annual chimney sweeps during the off season. He also gave me some excellent quotes on other things I need done, such as replacement of a very old side door that no longer conforms to present door sizes. The porch is now beautiful!
