"Excellent work done by painters Felix and Oscar. My house looks wonderful. These two painters showed up every day, did great work in painting wood trim on our 3 story home plus painted trim on our garage, painted our awning, vestibule, wood columns. Caulked or replaced trim where needed. I highly recommend this company. Felix and Oscar are great assets to University Painters."

"Townsley contracting is a great local contractor that backs up his work For a fair price. James is very prompt and personable to work with and offers logical advise. Along with replacing our roof James has power washed house, deck, stained deck and fixed woodpecker holes on soffits. All good!"

"As stated above I had Jim McDonnell Contracting paint all the exterior trim and wood on the outside house and garage. The employee sent out was David, he was always there when he said he would be. If there was ever a delay due to bad weather he would inform me right away. I am very pleased with the final outcome, I would definitely recommend Jim McDonnell Contracting, my house looks so much better since I called them."

"Wesley’s prices are competitive and was willing to do a compete service including cleaning the soffit. We have a second story over hang with columns that were chipping and peeling. Wesley talked about the process of power washing, sanding, and painting. Everything went well and looks great. We also have 2 bay windows with over hangs that were white. We had them painted bronze. The finish looked a little more matte than we expected so I called Wesley who was very responsive and he explained that the brand of exterior paint only had satin or a gloss finish. We wanted to try the gloss and he was happy to repaint it. We were happy with the results and would use Wesley again"

"Greg and his team were extremely professional and courteous. They managed our expectations from the get go, which is extremely appreciated. Having hired multiple different painters over the years, I can confidently say that Greg and his team are by far the best we've ever hired. Their attention to detail is unmatched. They clean up every single day. They are on time. They ask for feedback throughout the job and will do whatever it takes for complete customer satisfaction. To put this into perspective, we started out with a handful of rooms that we wanted painted and after seeing Greg and his team's work, we then added on almost the entire rest of our house. Greg was extremely flexible with our requests and truly stood by keeping us happy the entire time. They're wrapping up today and we've already referred 2 different potential customers to Greg. We are extremely relieved to know who our Painter will be for the long-term. Also, given the pandemic, I commend Greg and his team for operating safely the entire time (wearing masks and taking proper precautions to ensure everyone's health and safety). Thank you, Greg and Team! We could not be happier with your work and professionalism! - The Violette's"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Coatesville, PA

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
