"Outstanding experience with Alex's Lawn and Landscape Services LLC. Alex recently completed a landscape bed and refreshed the area around our lamppost, and the results are beautiful. Alex is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and dependable. He took the time to listen to what I wanted, offered thoughtful suggestions, and provided guidance on how to best care for the plants. He arrived when promised, completed the work efficiently, and left everything immaculate. What I appreciate most is his integrity and attention to detail. His prices are fair, his workmanship is excellent, and he genuinely takes pride in his work. I had been searching for a landscaping professional I could rely on for years to come, and I am delighted to say I finally found one. I look forward to working with Alex again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality landscaping services."

"Turf and Tree work has been doing my landscaping and lawn care for 5 years. The prices are more reasonable then any other providers I have used in the past. They are very professional and follow threw in a very timely manner. I am always happy with the results of my projects because everything is explained so there is never a surprise. The only surprise I ever have had is that the project is more spectacular then I could have imagined. Turf and Tree Worx offers every imaginable service. I had beautiful stone put along the shore line of my yard to stop a muskrat issue and I then had a prairie garden planted behind it. This is a huge area and it is now magnificent. This project had an approximate cost of $5000 and I assure you that if you bid this project out the bids would be double or triple. Turf and Tree Worx also created a beautiful flag stone patio and walk for a reasonable price. Next week they start another stone and bed project... I cannot wait to see the finished project!!I highly recommend Turf and Tree Worx. You will not be sorry!

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Colgate, WI

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
