"I hired Michael's Brick Pointing to point the back and the side of my house, as well as repair my chimney that was also allowing water to leak into the roof. I'm so happy I did! From start to finish, Michael and his team were professional, kind, methodical with their work and went above and beyond when it comes to completing the job. I highly recommend them as a reliable contractor willing to complete all your bricking pointing needs in a timely manner."

"I had three different chimney companies come out for estimates, including Bricks. Bricks was the only one that bothered to actually thoroughly inspect my two fireplaces and wide chimney, discovering that one of my dampers was broken and more. The whole chimney needed to be stuccoed because the veneer stone on it was falling apart, and previous owners had covered a lot of it (foolishly) in roof tar. Bricks was the only company that thoroughly explained everything wrong, without using scare tactics. They were nice and patient, and I’m confident if anything goes wrong with the repair, they’d come out to fix it. It was a pricey job, but doing things right is often pricey. Worth it, though."

"I hired Q&S to repair a bowing brick wall in the back of my home. Pat and his team at Q&S came out promptly, fixed the issues, and were both great at explaining every step of the process as well as keeping me informed of each step along the way. The workers were respectful of my home and finished each day by updating me on the progress as well as cleaning up after themselves in an excellent way. Additionally, prior to hiring Q&S I received several estimates for the work and it was apparent after Q&S that these other companies were trying to get every dime from me to perform unnecessary work. Pat and his team gave me an excellent price, and the finished product looks AMAZING. Will definitely recommend Q&S, and I will absolutely be using them in the future."

"Danny and the entire team at Legacy Peak Construction are amazing! We unexpectedly needed a completely new roof and I'm so glad we had a company we could trust helping us. Danny helped us weigh all of our options and was so communicative through the entire process. He promised me a 1 day job and the team worked 13 straight hours in the heat to deliver on that promise. By far the most reliable, reasonably priced, and hard working team! Already recommending them to everyone I know. Thank you Danny and team for the awesome experience and amazing new roof!"

FAQs for brick or stone tuck pointing projects in Collingswood, NJ

Masons charge between $70 and $110 per hour. A mason may have a minimum service fee ranging from $80 to $300. Most bricklayers offer free estimates and charge only if you proceed with the project. This clear pricing model assures that professionals inspect your property before beginning work and charge based on your project’s actual requirements.

A professional repointing lasts 20 to 30 years without maintenance and extends up to 50 years when maintained diligently. This process protects your brickwork using high-quality materials that ensure lasting performance and durability. Consistent upkeep preserves its strength and appearance, providing enduring protection and enhancing your home’s overall structural integrity for decades.

You know your house needs repointing when you notice clear signs such as cracked, flaking, or missing mortar and visible discoloration on the brick surfaces. Additional indicators include loose bricks, water damage, and gaps between the brick joints that compromise the overall integrity of the structure. Addressing these issues promptly protects your investment and sustains the durability and curb appeal of your home.

A house needs repointing to preserve both its structural integrity and visual appeal. Mortar acts as a vital bonding agent that holds the bricks securely together. When the mortar deteriorates, it exposes the structure to water infiltration and further decay, increasing the risk of costly repairs. Repointing stops decay and reinforces the exterior, ensuring long-term protection.
