"John and his team with Trublue did a great job on my bathroom remodel. They went above and beyond and my new bathroom looks better than I ever imaged! John came in and we had a consultation on what I was wanting in my remodel and put in his system and was able to show me exactly how it would look. They were professional, knowledgeable, clean, timely, and kept me in the loop every step of the process. Will definitely be using Trublue for future remodels. "

"I couldn't have found a better company to replace my old windows. Some are not square because of the age of my home and the Zen team, Brent and Hunter, took their time with each window, making them look beautiful inside and out. The amount I paid was what the original estimate was, so no surprises. The place is cleaner after they left than it was before! The installers were really nice guys to boot. A great company to work with!"

"Before this, I have never used a car service of any kind. I didn’t know how to go about finding a secure, safe service so I did a google search, which told me the best way to find a good car transport service was Angie’s list, bc you need to go by customer reviews. I absolutely went by the positive reviews, which lead me to this amazing serviices of United Freight of America Corp. and I must say, I am embarrassed that it has taken me so long to review the AWESOME car service that I received, unfortunately life issues got in my way. Now that I am catching up with things, I want to say that not only would I use : United Freight of America Corp. agin, I would recommend them to anyone who needs a transport car with a service. Not only did they get my son’s Mustang from PA to The University of Miami area in a very reasonable time, they also accommodated my son as to when and where pick up would be, without an additional charge. The car arrived in perfect condition, before the expected date, AND EVERYONE I dealt with was professional and very accommodating to our situation. We needed the car picked up during the week of my daughters weeding, but couldn’t have the car service interfere with anything wedding related and United Freight of America Corp. got the car and it had no effect on any of the wedding plans. You don’t get many companies who will accommodate your life as United Freight of America Corp. did for me, and without any additional charge, but when you do, it really makes you appreciate how hard some companies will go to make their customers happy. Thank you, United Freight of America Corp. !!!!"

"Aaron and his crew were amazing to work with. His team was professional and respectful, and work sites were cleaned up well at the end of every work day. We have a nanny who comes to our home to care for our three young children; Aaron and his crew were accommodating to their schedules and needs (e.g. was respectful of their naptimes by avoiding demolition, etc during those few hours), and kept dangerous items that might tempt their curiosity clear from all areas the children might pass through. The team overall were friendly and courteous to the children and made a noticeable effort to limit intrusion to the children's benefit. <br /> The first project AKC completed in our home included window replacements completed in September 2012. He completed the work as promised and on schedule. Noteably, I was hosting a baby shower in our home three days after the promised completion date. AKC finished the work as promised, including paint touch-up and rehanging of window treatments, and cleaned all work areas to their original state allowing me to focus attention on shower preparation vs. housekeeping concerns. <br /> The second project involved a full kitchen remodel that also included renovating a powder bathroom and mudroom area, and later extended into some work on our outdoor kitchen. We have worked with other reputable contractors at a previous home in the local area, and whereas AKC's quality and professionalism is on par with other well-known and respected contractors in our area, AKC exceeded expectations with his commitment to detail and personal involvement to ensure the finished product fully met our expectations. During early discussions, we provided Aaron with a general theme on what we wanted the end product to look like and other parameters on how we wanted the space to change, but admittedly we did not have strong details to offer him for direction. Aaron was able to quickly pick up on what we were looking for through those early conversations and provided us a computer model to better illustrate the changes he was proposing. (I have a difficult time visualizing through blueprints; the computer model allowed us to see 3-D images on what the kitchen would look like, including at different angles of view.) Another service that Aaron offered that far exceeded my expectations was his offer and willingness to accompany us when selecting products and materials for the space (e.g. brick, flooring, granite, cabinetry, etc.) His assistance turned what is often an overwhelming process of product selection into an easy to manage choice between several workable options that fit into our defined style and/or theme. <br /> Construction commenced at the end of May 2013 and was complete by August 2013. During contruction, AKC took extra effort to confine the dust and debris to within the contruction area and again cleaned the worksite well at the end of each work day. Again with three small children at home during the day while construction was underway, the team was cognizant of their needs including snack, lunch, and nap schedules and made noticeable effort to limit interruptions in the children's schedule whenever possible. Aaron Krumvieda also exceeded my expectations in assuming responsibility over not only the sub-contractors' work but also over their behavior. For example, one of the subs overstepped my comfort level with his informal or overly-casual approach regarding the family's personal space (i.e. outside the construction zone). I lightly mentioned the concern to Aaron and he made a concerted effort to ensure the situation did not happen again. This concern and respect for both our home and family environment was consistently demonstrated throughout the construction project. <br /> One last item worth mentioning includes the attentive response Aaron gave to follow up requests after the construction project was complete - the most recent call occuring May 2014 (8-9 months after the project was complete). Little requests such as a 2-inch piece of trim that got overlooked that needed correcting to bigger items like a manufacturer defect in the installed convection oven - Aaron was responsive and quick to follow up regardless of the request I posed to him after our project was complete. <br /> Overall, I found AKC to be fair in their pricing, the team to be professional and courteous, and the overall finished product to be <br /> of high quality workmanship. Aaron was easy and pleasant to work with throughout all phases of the construction, and I would use AKC again for future construction needs without hesitation. <br />"

"Design Your Basement is an amazing service that's helping us finish our basement, so that our family can enjoy our entire house. The design process was fast and seamless. The team at Design Your Basement provides great customer service and helped us identify design opportunities that we never would have thought to include. Not long after contacting Design Your Basement, the professionals were there to measure our basement. In no time at all, they had design ready for our review, which was based on our feedback. We enjoyed our design presentation meeting and it was easy to make the changes we wanted from the initial draft design. In addition, the 3D walk-through made it easy to envision how the basement will look before anything was done. Contractors from Design Your Basement are now helping us with framing and consulting with us on DIY portions of the project. We strongly recommend Design Your Basement."

"Perfect. I enjoyed getting to sit in the storm shelters at their showroom to help with size selection. After signing up for the install, they connect you to an online portal to manage the contract and to update building permit number, etc. Installation was prompt and clean."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Colman, SD

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
