"<p>Where to begin....the short review: My husband and I highly recommend Alamo Exteriors! They do exceptional work and their entire team is very easy to work with and very professional. </p> <p>The details: We spent a lot of time trying to analyze whether to put money into our existing home or sell it and start fresh and buy a newer home. We finally decided to remodel our home. We received about 4 or 5 quotes from various siding companies. They all had their stories to tell about what they could do for us and what it would cost us. We decided to go with Mark Belto and Alamo Exteriors. Mark explained in great detail the process by which they would install the new windows, siding, and our new screened-in patio. He wasn?t the least expensive, but he wasn?t the most either. Mark was always very polite, informative, and always accessible. He even gave us his cell number and would stay in touch with us, even over holiday weekends. He came by the house regularly to check on the progress and would call us to keep us informed of the progress. He has a keen eye for detail and always made sure our requests were dealt with, and always with a sense of urgency. In addition, all of his workers that we met were extremely polite, responsive, and easy to talk to. I was impressed by the way Mark talked to his workers as well. They all love him. He never talked down to them, but spoke with each of them as an equal when explaining what he wanted from them. They are a great team! It seemed that even with our minds made up before they began, my husband and I kept throwing little changes at them. They handled every request with grace and were very accommodating. I?ve always heard that remodeling jobs take their toll on couples but I have to say that this was the best experience I?ve ever had. They handled our home as if it were their own. They did a magnificent job! I would recommend them to anyone and I would use them over and over again! I can honestly say that we did not have one single ?encounter? during the entire makeover. They are THE BEST!</p> <br />"

"Really well done painting. Their work is impeccable; it's amazing. They are really accessible. They give us a good estimate. Then they are available fairly quickly, but they are really professional. What I learned from these guys is the prep work. If we don't prep a wall, if we just slap stuff on it; it's going to go really badly. I would say that probably at least 80% of what Hartrum does is the prep work. His whole crew is working really hard. I live in a really old home. They do a lot of restoration. With regard to price, they are in the ballpark; they are not cheap. All the estimates I got were about the same. They were probably a little bit lower. They were here for weeks. They are one of those people in my rolodex where I go if I want something done right. They are totally on their game. There was a lot of painting; they were here for weeks."

"The work took longer than I expected.  The primary owners came out to give the estimate and then sent out a man and his helper.  The painter and his helper were not very thorough and sloppy.  The owners had to come out to  finish the job because the people they had sent out were very slow and not very thorough.  Overall, the owners were very amicable and professional.. <br />"

"He painted, sprayed mostly, overspray on foundation, conduit. He did not <br /> paint where he could not while spraying. Behind gutter downspouts, <br /> outside temperature sensor could have easily been taken off but he taped <br /> over it instead. I have to go back and touch up. <br /> Left trash around, <br /> paint on grass everywhere. Just unprofessional for the price I think. <br /> Charged me more than we agreed on, said the boards cost him more. <br /> Thought I was going to save $1000 over next painter, wound up only <br /> saving 300. <br /> He did stop my leak on the patio cover though. For now. <br /> Just my opinion that for what we got and I know the higher priced painter, I <br /> should have gone with higher one. He is more Quality. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The first rep, Josh, left the company w/o turning in my order. When Boo Steen was new owner, he went over order to correct the problem. Great customer service by him and his installer."

"The workmanship was excellent. The anchoring, structure, and trim work was strong, straight and very well made. The tie in to the existing roof was very professional and all seams were sealed. The gutters were designed and constructed to fit perfectly. These gentlemen were courteous and very respectful to me at all times. They commuted with me promptly at all stages of the project. A very pleasant experience."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Colorado City, TX

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
