"Colby is a pleasure to deal with, and he and his workers are hard-working and do the job right. Our job involved the digging and removal of 2 trailer loads of dirt, including taking it up an incline along the side of our house by hand. The area they worked on looks great. I would highly recommend them for all the types of services they offer. "

"Had my 2 bathrooms redone and my kitchen remodeled. Jonathan and his crew are wonderful to work with. Work is done on time and they did an outstanding job. I have gotten so many compliments on my kitchen and I was more than pleased with the work. My bathrooms are beautiful, fully tiled and I could not be happier with the work done. Prices were good, estimates given before the job was started so if I had any questions or concerns, I got them answered prior to the job starting. They cleaned up so well after the work was completed, so I had absolutely no concerns there. I definitely recommend Central Services and I would definitely use them again in the future. "

"Chris & Trinton at High Meadows are Fantastic! My husband & I have been living out in the Black Forest for almost 25 years. Now that we both are seniors with health issues, we cannot even begin to try to do any snow removal in our driveway that gets terrible drifting. Over all these past years, we have had so many contractors come & go. This winter we found Chris & he has been such a "Blessing" to us ......he is the most polite, sincere, honest, dependable young man I have ever met. When Chris says he will get the job done, he will! Thank you, Chris, for such Exceptional, Reasonable, Reliable Service..... You all are our "Best Snow Men" ever!! Don't hesitate to call on High Meadows .... you won't be disappointed! We will also be calling on Chris for some help with landscaping projects. Thank You again! Gwen & Michael"

"Our search for a 'contractor' began before we even closed on our home. I searched for Dayhoff Maintenance and Repair through angie's list because we desired to stay away from corporate contracting. Over the course of the last 4 weeks, this decision has proven to have been a very wise, very solid decision! We couldn't be happier with Chuck and all the repairs and remodeling he did for us. This was a significant financial commitment for us, but large or small job, please stay and read why you should hire Chuck! We hired Chuck to do extensive remodeling in our newly purchased but 12-year old home. From the first phone call I placed to Chuck, he picked up immediately and we began our discussions on home repairs. He has always been very prompt in answering phone calls or texts. Very important when you are having work done on your home! Before beginning work, Chuck came to our home and took into account all that we were asking, took all the necessary measurements, and promptly gave us an estimate that evening. Chuck recommended places for us to purchase our tile and our hardwoods, both recommendations we used. He picked up the tile and transported them himself to our home, and had the hardwoods delivered to us from the manufacturer. The tile installation process began first. Chuck knew from the get-go, exactly what he was doing. He had all the proper equipment ready, and began work on our agreed date and time of March 20, with no delay. Throughout the whole process of the tile installation, Chuck was always professional, but very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. He kept me and my husband updated on the progress, and any possible changes to building materials and/or costs daily. Chuck has an innate ability to manage his projects and timing well, such that when one part of the remodeling process was curing, he would begin work in other areas to expedite the overall repair time. Tile was installed in our kitchen, upstairs master bathroom and garage entry way. Hardwood flooring installation began as Chuck and we had discussed. His solid knowledge on hardwood flooring really came to light during this process.Chuck used protection barriers during the sanding process to ensure integrity in the rest of our home and protection of our goods. He advised us of the precautions we should take when the polyurethane coating was to be laid and beginning to harden the floors. He took the time to install the wood floors running the length of our house, taking into account all the unique angles and meeting points with other flooring. Chuck always made sure that the work was 100% and even then he double checked with us to make sure we were happy with the product. As a business owner, Chuck takes great pride in doing the job the right way, professionally, the first time. Other projects we had Chuck complete was a toilet installation after he discovered during the MBR tile installation upstairs that the toilet needed to be replaced. Chuck sent us pictures and explained the need. He installed our new toilet and plumbing with it. Chuck is definitely a handyman, and also helped us with painting trim on textured walls. His trim work was great, and we are very appreciative of the help in this area. Please see photos. Overall, this remodeling process took about 4 weeks to complete, with Chuck being present at our home from about 9-4 pm, Monday through Friday. We, the homeowners, were in and out of the home simultaneously, but did not move into our home until about 1 week before renovations were completed. Never at any point where we concerned about integrity issues or lack of professionalism. You will not find that with Chuck. When you are in need of a handy man, call Chuck! We are definitely going to be using his services again. We cannot express how happy we are with his work, so we'll include pictures of before and after!"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Colorado Springs, CO

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
