"The contractor was prompt in responding to my inquiry but unfortunately responded that they do not provide a roof repair service. My overall rating reflects the fact that they had an excellent response, but could not help me, so their overall rating is fair."

"Trenton Roofing did a superb job reroofing my house in Brick, New Jersey. I am so happy that I called them for an estimate. Out of the multiple proposals that I received their bid provided the best value for the money. They had to remove 2 layers of shingles. The crew was very professional in tearing down the old roof and installing the new one. I also had 2 skylights replaced which needed special order flashing. This was ordered and installed without a hitch. Mr. Alex Valentino was the project manager and provide exceptional service. Mr. Valentino personally managed the job from pricing through inspection and final clean-up. Their clean-up was so immaculate you could not tell that they had been at my house. Some minor damage occurred inside my house during the installation process but the company repaired the damage without any additional costs to me. I highly recommend Trenton Roofing for any one in need of roofing services."

We look forward to working with you! SAM M 2 reviews·1 photo Working with Chris to come up with a strategy on the repairs needed to my specialized tile roof, was beyond exemplary. Not many companies have the experience Mast does with this roofing system and Chris was instrumental in finding solutions, like removing the existing tile over the garage pent roof to be used for the various repairs on the main roof, so the repairs used the same color and didn't scream that it was a repair. They don't make these terracotta tiles anymore (mine look like cedar shake), so cannibalizing the garage roof was the perfect call. Now we have extra for future fixes. The new asphalt section is barely noticeable from the street that it's different from the main roof. Thank you to Chris and the rest of the team they were such a pleasure to have working on the house. The pride they all took in their jobs was clearly evident."

"I had a 20+ year old skylight that was leaking. Joe came out to the property twice when I had a followup question so that he could provide me with an accurate response. The roofers that came to install the skylight were courteous and professional. After the installation was complete the edges of the roof were re-sealed and silver-coated."

"From the start, no other contractor worked like Mike to get the project to where we needed it to be financially. We really did not know what we were getting ourselves into and of all of the contractors that we interviewed (and we interviewed a lot!), Mike was the only one to offer to meet with our architect to get the project to where our budgets and dreams could align.  Mike brought subcontractors to look at aspects of the project before he even wrote us an estimate, so there would not be any surprises later in the project. That meant a lot to us.  Mike, Mike Jr. and Dan were a pleasure to work with. They were always available for questions, very quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had, were super punctual and they are talented craftsmen. Their ability to tie our old home into our new addition was very seamless, the two parts fit into each other very nicely.  Mike's subcontractors were also great. They were clean, caring and very professional. Everyone worked very cleanly and with great respect for us and our house. We lived at the house throughout the entire project and they worked hard to keep it livable throughout.  We could not have been happier with them.  Although it may have taken slightly longer than what we had hoped due to unforeseeable delays, it was the best money we ever spent! <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Conshohocken, PA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
