"Starkie Brothers was one of our top choices when it came time to rip up our old concrete patio and replace it with pavers. We knew we would get quality work that would be sustainable for years to come. John met with us on several occasions and was patient with us throughout our decision-making when it came down to the design of our project. John had great ideas...he was detailed in his project plans, discussing everything from rip up & removal, drainage, piping, design and layout. John took the time to come to our house on several occasions until every detail was discussed and finalized. He even met us at the supply place to look at our options re: pavers. Our project was broken down into two parts - 1) a rear patio off of our house and 2) a paver patio surrounding a new pool as well as a black top driveway. Part 1 was completed this Fall. John and his crew were at our house every morning as scheduled. They worked diligently to complete the project in 4 days. His crew was very friendly and communicated with us throughout. John kept us updated via text and phone calls, even sending us pictures of the progress throughout the day! He had our kids create a time capsule which he buried for them. The work was neat, organized and all cleaned up at the end of each day and at the end of project. We have yet to decide on landscaping but the groundwork has been laid by John for irrigation. Part 2 will be completed in the Spring, giving the area around the new pool install time to settle. Will update review once that part is complete. Pics are before/during/after"

"When we first sat down with Joe from Masonry Hardscapes, my wife and I knew he was the right guy for the job. He was polite, professional, easy to talk to and most importantly, he listened. We had a dream plan to extend our front porch and install paver walkways, a paver driveway, a paver patio, a stone retaining wall and cap everything with Boral/Westlake cultured stone veneer. It was going to be a big job and we really needed somebody to hold our hand (so to speak) and walk us through the best way to plan and complete the project, and that is exactly what Joe did. He met with us several times before the project began and explained everything to us in detail. The job went very smooth throughout, the men were incredibly professional- always on time, hardworking, polite and most importantly, the craftsmanship was second to none. We were so happy with the quality and price that we added many other aspects to the job; some were our ideas and some were great suggestions from Joe. We added a cultured stone veneer chimney, stone veneer wainscoting to the foundation of the house, stone piers and a wonderful custom stone veneer mailbox (that was Joeâ s idea). Joe was very focused on doing the job correctly and completely, he made sure to include dry wells and proper drainage to all areas of the job as well. Anytime there was an issue of any kind, Joe was flexible and worked with us to find a solution. Joe even installed PVC fencing for us to complete the project- including putting matching stone under the fences where needed- this looks beautiful also. I almost forgot to mention that they also ripped and replaced my entire front concrete sidewalks and installed an absolutely beautiful paver apron to match the rest of the project in the Cambridge Ledgestone 3 piece design kit in Limestone Quarry Blend color (smooth)/ no texture with the same 4 1/2 x 9 coal inlay. The compliments from everyone have literally been non stop and they always ask who did the work because it is so obvious that it was done correctly and with precision. What makes Joe and Masonry Hardscapes different from the rest, is not only the top quality craftsmanship, but also that he is ready to custom build whatever you want and he will work with you to figure it out. That is what he did with us and it turned out amazing. All in all, we couldnâ t be happier with the incredible job that Joe and his men did for us. It was a complete outdoor transformation of our home and Masonry Hardscapes did a fabulous job!"

"The bottom quarter of an exterior face brick veneer (Brick-It) wall had collapsed, and Alex restored it to perfect condition after first having to remove another quarter of the wall that was about to collapse as well - making sure to keep each of the pieces from breaking in the process. The original installation was about 35 years old, before the current technique was developed, and Alex was not satisfied with the way the new installation technique matched the corner of the existing adjacent wall section (done by the old technique) - so he readjusted the new metal backing (by cutting it into 2-row sections) in order to be able to more precisely line up the new section row-by-row with the original. So, I guess you could say that in a real sense, Alex made the wall Better Than New! After the past few days of really wet, nasty weather, the wall has held up just the way it is supposed to. Alex and his crew were punctual, trustworthy and professional. Well done."

"We hired Advanced to rip up our old driveway, and put in an expanded asphalt driveway. We also needed a new walkway as the old red bricks were uneven and posed a tripping hazard. James worked with me to ensure the shape of the expanded driveway was exactly what we wanted. The team worked very fast and James was on site throughout the project. Further working with us, they ensured the walkway end was flush with the driveway (avoiding another previous tripping hazard), and worked with me to lay pipe underneath the new walkway so I could extend our in-ground sprinklers and have the option to add electrical. The team put string through and planted flags in the ground marking the ends of the pipes. They even redid the pavers of our front stoop including cutting out and regrouting. Everything looked so great that we hired James 9 months later to come back and install two quarter-circle sitting walls at the ends of our driveway. They even relocated the plants for us. We're the new it house!"

"We couldn’t be happier with the incredible job Jose and his team from JG Landscapers did for us. We had been struggling for months to tackle a massive overgrowth of unmanageable shrubs, bushes, and — to our surprise — thick poison ivy, oak, and sumac that had completely taken over the front of our home. My husband and I felt overwhelmed and defeated. Jose’s team came in with professionalism, skill, and efficiency and transformed our entire landscape in just a short time. They removed everything with care and precision, leaving behind a perfectly prepped space that’s now ready for fresh grass and a clean new look. What we appreciate most is how they gave us a renewed sense of pride in our property. The front of our home looks refreshed and open, and we can’t wait to watch the new grass grow in. We’re already planning to use JG Landscapers for future projects! Highly recommend — if you’re feeling stuck or discouraged with your yard, this is the team to call."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Copiague, NY

The recommended interval for paver maintenance varies based on several factors, including climate conditions, usage patterns, and sealant type. Most surfaces benefit from resealing every two to five years, with more frequent attention needed in harsh environments or high-traffic areas.

Properties with significant tree coverage or water exposure may require more regular maintenance. Annual inspection allows homeowners to identify emerging issues before they require extensive intervention.

Professional service providers offer several advantages, including specialized equipment calibrated for optimal application rates, thorough preparation techniques, and experience identifying underlying issues that might affect sealant performance.

Technicians understand product compatibility with different paver materials and can recommend appropriate solutions for specific conditions. The efficiency and precision of professional application often results in more consistent coverage and potentially longer-lasting protection compared to first-time DIY efforts.

Optimal timing for paver sealing projects depends primarily on weather conditions rather than specific calendar dates. The application requires consistently dry conditions with moderate temperatures, between 50°F and 85°F.

Spring and fall often provide ideal conditions in many regions, avoiding both excessive heat that causes rapid drying and cold temperatures that inhibit proper curing. The surface must be completely dry before application, requiring several consecutive precipitation-free days beforehand.

Initial drying times vary by product type and environmental conditions. Most water-based sealants become touch-dry within two to four hours but require 24 to 48 hours before supporting normal foot traffic.

Solvent-based products need slightly longer initial drying periods but may develop full hardness more quickly. Factors like humidity, temperature, and air circulation significantly influence drying rates. For vehicle traffic or furniture placement, manufacturers recommend waiting at least 48 to 72 hours to ensure complete curing.
