"We have a 1/2 acre lot.  Although the large grass backyard was very attractive it was not very usable as it sloped away.  So we had a limited use yard, a small patio that could only comfortably handle about 4 people.  Additionally we were paying for watering and lawn service with no real return.  We decided that it would be a better use of the area if we extended the patio.  We also thought that it wold be too much concrete so we decided to put a Bocce court in the lower level.  That gives us much more use of the area. <br /> Our back yard is beautiful and everyone that has been there to visit and/or play Bocce has agreed.  The people that did the work were professional, friendly and respectful.  We feel like we have new friends. <br /> During the construction, we would be apprised of issues and given a choice of solutions.  Most of the time these were no-cost changes.  Their costs were almost always what they estimated.  Most of the cost increases came from my wife and I saying things like "while you at it..." or "can you also build...." <br /> When they did not feel completely comfortable with an issue (E.g., they changed a 220 volt line into 2 separate fused 110 volt lines with switches and outlets), they told us so and asked our permission to bring in a subcontractor (and electrician) to assure that everything was done correctly and to code.  They told us this during the design process. <br /> When things were not done to our expectations, they redid them.  A month after the job was done we saw grass growing through an area where the grass was removed, weed barrier installed and covered with mulch.  When we called, they came out to see and agreed that it should not have happened and are now in the process of redoing that area.  Great follow up! <br />"

"Very well. immediate response from initial contact and an estimate was received. Adrian showed us our product options in the showroom. An estimate start date was given, they actually started ahead of time. The workers were on time everyday. Adrian or his brother were there every day on site answer any questions and to ensure the work was being done as contracted. Drop cloths were laid down each day to pick up roof debris and collected at the end of the day. There was minimal mess. Adrian was very helpful in answering all of our question and providing helpful ideas. I would definitely recommend So Cal Construction."

"Jeb Showed up on time.  He was friendly, professional and very clear about what needed to be done. He brought in a small backhoe that could move around the edge of the pond and was exceedingly careful of trees and stepping stones.  His helper called in sick so it took him two days but he never quibbled about price, even though the job and the muck turned out to be much more than he had bargained for.  I loaned him a couple of tools.  He was careful to clean the worksite each day, clean the tools, put everything where I asked him to and there were piles of muck.  I offered an extra hundred to find the drain hole.  That took him two days.  He never gave up, no matter how deep or messy the muck, never swore that I heard, even when his pump let loose and showered him with muck, he just kept on going.  His helper called in sick the next day also so he did this huge job alone.  At the end I asked him if he was finished and he said not until I checked everything and I told him he was finished.  I would highly recommend this man for any landscaping job.  He said he also builds retaining walls, new ponds, entire landscapes, etc.  I see his business has a Facebook page too.  I have another job for him in the near future. <br />"

"Bergstrom construction came out and initially did a bid. It took a few days before the bid came in. The cost was on point with the 2 other bids I received from other concrete contractors. I decided to go with Bergstrom due to their customer service and solution to the arbor post issue. Once I confirmed with the owner Bruce that I wished to proceed we set up a date to start. Unfortunately, a record heat wave hit Chico and Bruce stated he would not be able to pour concrete during the high temperatures. The following week I get a call on Sunday evening asking if they could start earlier than expected and come by the next morning. That wasn't a problem for me so I agreed. <br /> <ul> <li></li> <li>Monday morning they arrived around 9 am and began work. The guys that arrived worked cautiously around my landscaping and even moved a large section of gravel from an existing path to a new location (so I could use it elsewhere). After that was done, they remarked the patio area I wanted and used a bobcat to remove dirt and level the area. Then they formed the patio border and laid down a road base foundation and leveled that with the bobcat.</li> </ul> <br /> Tuesday morning they came back out and tamped down the foundation with a plate compactor and laid the steel cage for the patio, removed the existing post to the arbor, and set the new sleeve for the arbor post. <br /> Friday was concrete pouring day. They arrived about an hour later than scheduled but got the patio poured and finished. In addition they made a concrete bench with the leftover concrete that they gave to us. <br /> Over the weekend, I ended up placing the new arbor post in the new sleeve and attaching back to the arbor due to the heat and the fact that I had shade sails that I wanted to put back up. <br /> Monday mid-day they returned to remove the forms and clean up the area around the patio. They left my yard clean and back the way it was prior to the job. <br /> Overall I was very satisfied with Bergstrom construction and would definitely hire them for any future job. <br />"

"Fred and his son were here at the agreed upon time of 7:30 A.M and the work was completed by 11:30 A.M.. They trimmed an Ligustrum hedge that was overgrown and branches of a Mulberry tree that were touching our garage roof and carport. This was on the east side of our property. On the west side they trimmed a River Maple with a Trumpet Vine growing on it to the property line. They did more than I expected and cleaned up everything very nicely. Fred has done work for us for about 30 years and has always been fair and exceeded expectations. <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Corning, CA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
