"We were very pleased with the results of our kitchen remodel project. Jim was an excellent guide for our planning process. He took his time and listened to what our plans were and helped us figure out the best options. He custom made our cabinets which were beautiful. As I am disabled, consideration was given to the project. Our floor was also replaced and it is now easier for me to get around using my walker. They were punctual and efficient and kept us informed of any changes in plan. I would definitely recommend them for your next project. God bless you and your family Jim."

"The NDD Refinishing Team timely completed refinishing our kitchen cabinets, a project that expended three weeks. The NDD Team did a great/quality job in all respects. The project involved taking the old wooded cabinets and refinishing them as follows: sanding and stripping them to a raw condition; making repairs (kicks, trim, bulk head lip etc.); used several coats of primer and top coat while sanding between coats; replacing knobs; and making adjustments where needed. Communication and promptness are strong points of the NDD Team. We were most impressed with how the Team operated and coordinated each activity. During our project/job, the Team adapted to change/modifications with ease. On their own initiative, the Team exhibited cost effective measures by obtaining quality products for essentially the same price, thus, keeping the project within our budget. "If you are looking for kitchen cabinets update please call them you will be very pleased and a better price you will not find . The quality of their work is fantastic. Lou came out to my home first to tell me all about it and discuss price. He was very professional and wonderful to deal with all the way around. Don and the men from the shop came out to do the work and it looks like a brand new kitchen at half the cost of putting in new cabinets. Put them on the top of your list if looking for cabinet refinishing ."

Customers say: True professional

"I should have written this review long ago-but here I am looking for a roofer on Angies List and decided sing Neils praises as I found him on Angies List last yr. Very few painters paint kitchen cabinets but he does! Lucky you.:) <br /> -He was responsive professional and did an excellent job . He was extremely neat and meticulous.  I was considering painting the cabinets myself but I wanted a quality job-and they look terrific 18 mos later-No nicks-easy to clean . He removed the doors and drawers-sanded them and painted them and then reinstalled everything with new hinges and hardware.  I wanted a little bit of a country look-and a lighter kitchen as the cabinets were solid dark wood -I debated over wall color for some time after the maple flooring and granite counters were installed and he was very patient-offering suggestions and trying out several swatches of color. He was very helpful through the entire process. The kitchen looks great -I would definitely hire Neil again- <br /> You wont be sorry! <br />"

"I had an exceptional experience with Sewickly WoodCrafts in restoring my Grandmother's table. Although the table had a plastic top, we used Retique, which proved to be the perfect solution for reviving the table, making it better than ever! The entire project was completed in just about one week, and the pick-up and drop-off process was seamless. I would highly recommend their services—10/10!"

"Elizabeth painted our living room, kitchen, 2.5 baths, 3 bedrooms, and a multi floor foyer. She was easy to communicate with from day one. She checked in with us when our living room paint choice looked too yellow for the room and helped us pick a warm brown that we absolutely love. We will definitely hire her next time we need top-notch painting done."

"This is the second time I've turned to Mark for help in getting a home loan. The reason I'm a repeat customer is that Mark is great. He always gets me the absolute best rate and is an honest, tell-it-like-it-is person - so very appreciated during the confusing and scary process of getting a mortgage. <br /> I tend to run a little on the neurotic side, and Mark handled my constant badgering and near freak-outs with great finesse, providing just the right amount of hand-holding and straight-up advice. This time around, I bought my home through a private sale, meaning neither party used a realtor. So I needed even more attention and guidance. Mark not only did a great job with the mortgage, he also gave me invaluable advice on issues related to the sale but outside his scope, such as home inspection. <br /> A big THANKS to Mark. I couldn't have done it without you and Judy! <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Cranberry Township, PA

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
