"I requested an estimate to replace an opener for one door and add a sliding lock to the second. Ben B, the technician, diagnosed the problem and prescribed a much cheaper option to repair my opener. He was courteous, professional and worked quickly. He explained maintenance steps we should take in the future. Ben also installed a sliding lock to reinforce our second door. The office called me first to let me know the timeframe in which he would arrive and Ben called me when he was 30 minutes out. I recommend Discount Garage Doors and I hope to get Ben again if I need their service."

"On the initial phone converstion, Nick quoted me a price of $145 for the replacement of one door and if I needed another door replacement it would be $135.  In addition, if I needed track replacement or door handle there would be additonal cost.
Nick showed up puntual and was VERY professional and considerate  (obviously he's not from Florida or New York).  He told me NOT to do the 2nd door and NOT to replace the track.  WOW, who does that ?
He was deliberate, meticulous, and charged me the $145 that was initially  quoted !
Door works great, I'm good to go......

"This was quite a process. We signed with this company during the original visit and then had buyers remorse that we had not gotten other quotes, so we cancelled within the 3 days with no issues and kept in contact with our sales person. This was totally on us as we just wanted peace of mind before such a big commitment as we had 18 windows and a door to be replaced. We did get 2 more quotes, one from a big box retailer (orange) and one from an area competitor (the cookie guy). We were surprised to find out that the price was competitive among-st all 3 only separated really by a few hundred dollars. A lot of items like dual paint colors, single vs double hung etc were standard with HPA but additional cost with the others. The big box once installed you dealt with another company completely on the warranty and the cookie guy was so high pressure and rather than selling themselves spent most of the pitch trying to discredit the others which never sits well with me. HPA was priced right in the middle, financing was flexible (cookie guys did not have many options) the sales guy was personable, patient and no pressure and you call the company with issues, not a 3rd party. I spent a lot of time researching and reading reviews and we chose HPA. Once the windows were in and permitting was complete, they showed up with a huge crew and the installation was completed by 3pm that same day! Other than all new windows and a door, you did not know they were here. Our house was left clean and all old materials hauled away. Final permit sign off was remote due to Covid but was quick and they have since been here to remove all the stickers, install the plugs and thoroughly clean the windows. We just need one piece of trim which was recommended over the plugs for our door which will look more polished. It is an investment for sure but I would recommend this company without hesitation. Josh in installation has been awesome!"

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Crescent City, FL

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
