"Shawn was just awesome. I (very hesitantly) placed an ad on Facebook for contracting work, and Shawn (through his quotes and pictures of his prior work) is who we ultimately decided to go with. He gave us many options for fixing our existing railing or replacing it altogether, taking his time to explain all the pros and cons. With his help, we decided to go with all new wood and concrete. Boy am I glad we did! I'm pretty sure you could build a house on our railing (it is solid as a rock). It looks great too! Not to mention, throughout his work, Shawn was always on time and was able to complete the project in a timely manner without compromising on quality. "They were great. Bruce was great at understanding my request (it was just a general idea and I just told him I just want it to look good) and even made some suggestions that brought it up a notch. They were friendly and made sure we approved of what they were doing during the process and were quick to make changes if we didn't like it. They even came back to fix an area we were not happy with. We have received several compliments on how well it looks. I would definitely come back to them for future improvements."

"The new water feature, actually a pondless waterfall, looks great. Appears to be well made and will sustain weather. I am disappointed in myself for assuming a plant guarantee was in order. I spent $6000 total and half of that was the water feature. Two weeks out from completion some shrubs shriveled and died. These are xeriscape-type plants. They thrive in hot weather and well drained soil. Today four plants are still dead. He said he would replace but that hasn't materialized yet, 2 months out. I suggested we add compost/peat to the clay soil. I should have done that and now I will do that as I add new plants in the future. Its common sense but I think his water scaping skills are worth the cost. For plants, call a landscaper that guarantees their product at least 30 days, better a year like most walk in retailers. Its a headache to fix what needs fixing. I owned my own service business for twenty years. The most important thing to me as a consumer is service after the sale. I learned early that its cheaper to keep customers than make new ones. So, when grading, I weigh heavy on the service aspect. If its not as important, and most of your expectations are met, you will be happy. I only would not hire again because the water feature is done and I think it can be maintained accordingly by anyone. I need more plantings but I'll hike into a store that includes a guarantee."

"Over the last five years my waterfall has not worked properly; three different landscapers have come to fix it. Unfortunately they would "band-aid" the situation but never fix it. Then Mark arrived on the scene. The first words out his mouth were, "All of the leaves in your backyard are the same color and shape." He is passionate about landscape design. His bid came out to the penny when he was finished; no surprises. We now have a long term vision of where my yard needs to go; he will come back to do little things that tweak my yard to give it a "landscape designer" look. I can still do my "therapy gardening", but it has direction. One afternoon I arrived home, and he had stopped by to move a birdbath/water structure.( Where it was sitting destroyed the balance); then he calls to see if it is okay where it is. He makes super helpful suggestions. I had a space that needed some punch; Mark told me to go to Lowe's; their trees were discounted and would be cheaper than what he could sell one to me. (what landscaping company does this?) The crew calls before they come and then calls to see if I was satisfied with what they did. They are as polite and knowledgeable as Mark. I am high maintenance when I have anything done in my house; I'll admit it. That stress is gone when working with this company. There is not a speck of dirt on the driveway and nothing they can not fix. You can afford them; just do it and enjoy your own little piece of outdoor heaven. Oh, by the way, he likes to talk and not communicate via text and email; that says something right there. <br />"

"Let me begin by saying that we are very happy with the services provided by Dave Spohr and his crew and staff. We had a serious water problem in our basement that needed to be rectified, without delay. A decade ago, Dave had completed a project for us at a different property and we were pleased with the outcome at that time. We called Dave and scheduled an appointment for consultation. He arrived on time and spent at least 2 hours with us, examining our basement, answering our questions and offering his opinion on the likely cause and solution to our problem. He suggested a particular test to provide a more definitive look at our infrastructure, and we appreciated the opportunity to gain more insight into what was actually occurring. A few days later, we received documents that set out Dave's findings and conclusions, his proposal to solve the issues, a cost estimate and a contract for our signature, if we wanted to proceed. We wanted to proceed and fast! Dave was responsive to our desire to begin the project at the earliest opportunity and so, a short time later, it was underway. From our perspective, it was a big project, involving removal of concrete, laying of drain-tile, creating an appropriate sump pump pit, and numerous other things that are needed to insure that water will drain away from your home, instead of flowing in and soaking your carpet! Throughout the project, Dave and his staff treated us with the utmost courtesy. Always, they worked with our schedules and with the attitude that our project was of paramount importance. Brittany and Aaron were especially nice to us, but beyond that, we liked each and every person that Dave sent to work in our home. This was significant because these individuals were in our basement for hours on end, amongst our personal things, and charged with the responsibility to fix our water issues.  For us, it was so important that this project succeed.  Dave and his crew completed our project on time, on budget and to our complete satisfaction. The spring rains have arrived, and our basement is dry.  With no reservations, we recommend Spohr's Landscaping Inc as a result of their excellent work on our behalf."

"Once he started, the job went quickly (the job was delayed because I was tardy in getting the releases needed to enter neighbors' properties). The wall was quite long on two sides of my property. He was able to replace the most visible part of the wall with stone while using wood on what remained in order to keep costs down. His bid was in the same ballpark as others I received that would have used only wood. To boot, other bids required that I have a privacy fence removed and replaced by another contractor (costing another $2,000) while Dan was able to complete the wall without that removal. Equipment needed for the job caused some unavoidable damage to a neighbor's lawn. Dan came back and made repairs to my neighbor's satisfaction. In all, I am very happy with a job well done. <br />"
