"We used this service several times. Joey is our go to man. We used them for the exterior of our house and deck restoration. We just got our interior completed throughout the winter, and we are pleased with our turnout and highly recommend them to anyone wanting to use a nonsense company, that takes great pride in their work. True professionals!"

"The bathroom remodel was in April 2018. The job was finished one day later than described and that was unavoidable because I live in a very old house. Larry and Augie were absolute gentlemen, talented and skillful, and the job was cleaned up every day before they left. They arrived on time, took their lunches and breaks nearly to the minute and kept me informed every day of what was happening. The family room remodel will be completed next week when the bar top is installed and this job went exactly the same as the bathroom. Tommy and Eddie were also complete gentlemen and also very skillful and creative because in this old home creativity was a necessity to overcome some obstacles. Andy, the project manager, continually made his presence known and I felt very comfortable contacting him for any thoughts or questions I had. I would most definitely use Apex again."

"Perfect. I enjoyed getting to sit in the storm shelters at their showroom to help with size selection. After signing up for the install, they connect you to an online portal to manage the contract and to update building permit number, etc. Installation was prompt and clean."

"Luis and his crew were outstanding. They were always responsive, on time, and have incredible depth of experience (more than 20 years). They don't just replace your gutters; they look at total water management to be more effective at how the rain is dispersed. They suggested moving some downspouts to provide better flow away from the foundation. In addition, they are master craftsmen when it comes to the actual installation. Their attention to detail and managing tricky roof sections was exceptional – plus, they left it cleaner than when they came. The owner actually followed up with a personal phone call to make sure I was satisfied with their work – great customer focus. I'm actually looking forward to the next rainfall! I can't say enough about and highly recommend Moore Construction!"

"We had quotes from 30,000 to 60,000. It was like some of these guys wanted to rebuild the house. Kenny Wood initially came in close but under the lowest, but still a little too much for our budget. We discussed it and he made some suggestions to save money but still get the job done. His guys came in the next week, got right to work and did an excellent job. I would definitely hire Kirkenlow again."

"Had a patio door installed. Premier Windows System was great to work with. Tom was able to order the door and install within our time frame. The installer Matt was great and answered all questions I had pertaining to the door. Really enjoy the look and operation of the new patio door."

"Absolutely awful quality install. Took 6 calls to finally get it fixed. They also lie during the sales meeting saying you?re paying for salaried employees to install, when in reality they just hire third party contractors who can?t caulk or work responsibly at all. They will fix the issue if you keep calling them (they will try to ghost you for the first 3-4 times) but don?t offer you their best price outright, and straight up harass you if you decline their service. This was a 6800$ mistake I learned my lesson from, I am hoping I can help any body else NOT make the same mistake I did- they also left a ton of broken glass( and busted up my porch) and trim all over my driveway and yard, almost like they just flung it everywhere and buried it in the snow on their way out. Too long didn?t read: they are liars who do lousy work, then try to ghost you to avoid accountability. Avoid at all costs."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Crown Point, IN

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
