"Bought a dryer vent cleaning under a $99 deal through Angie's List. Gentleman came out and determined I did not need a cleaning. Advised other work that needed to be done, change flex tube and clean lint from dryer itself for additional charges. Stated because my vent was not to be cleaned the $99 fee I paid for was not applicable even though he was compensated from the deal already. He suggested I some how get a refund through Angie's List. The gentleman was courteous and eventually subtracted the $99 fee I already paid from the total. Nothing negative to say about the gentleman doing the work but this deal was a clear foot in the door tactic in order to upsell. It was clear from the start. Every action the gentleman said he would do was additional funds. The deal on Angie's List is very vague and did not convey any extra costs to a dryer vent cleaning, such as cleaning a dryer vent helper fan. As another reviewer stated, the $99 was to get the company through the door and the upsell was immediately on. The gentleman doing the work was professional and worked clean. Be wary of what a dryer vent cleaning is and all the extras that are to be tacked on as you go."
