"Robert Medley (owner) and James did an awesome job! I can't truly articulate just how pleased I was with their performance. My 2800-square foot home is filled with intricately designed wide crown moulding, fluted (structural) columns and door casements as well as high baseboards with 1/4 round that really needed attention to detail since I was using high gloss paint which, by its very nature, would show every little imperfection. Although the existing paint job was still aesthetically pleasing, primarily because I used a neutral color palette to begin with, the previous professional contractor who I hired years ago to do job had left a lot of debris (think sanding residue and unfilled dings) underneath the paint that you could feel whenever you cleaned. I admit it's not probably something that would bother most people but it irked the and quot;you know whatand quot; out of me since I know a good paint job when I see one and this simply wasn't up to my standards. (Unfortunately at that time I was up against a firm closing date for my contractor-to-conventional mortgage shift and the final inspection was due therefore I put up with it rather than delay and watch interest rates go up.) So when I finally decided to take the plunge again and repaint this year, I had four hard and fast rules which anyone submitting a proposal would have to factor in and guarantee my satisfaction with their work: (1.) fill, sand, caulk and apply a 2-coat paint process until there was smooth, mirror-like finish on all my trim, doors and columns and straight cut-in lines on my walls with no flashing or bleed through of the old paint, (2) use the best of Sherwin Williams' or Porter Paint brand products, (3.) perform the job with only two painters in my home, one of which had to be the owner...no unsupervised subs...and finally (4.) leave my light colored hard wood floors or white carpet as pristine as when you arrived. I interviewed and received bids from three contractors before I hired Robert and I'm so glad I chose his team. Each morning, over the course of 7 workdays, they arrived promptly at 8 a.m. and departed at 4 p.m., taking only a half-hour lunch break in between. Both were meticulous, neatly cleaning up and vacuumed their work areas daily so I didn't have to, put up with my nit-noid inspection of every aspect from prep to completion and taught me not only great trade techniques but the difference between someone simply calling themselves a painter and a fabulously professional one. An added bonus was they installed my new Schlage door handle and dead bolt, just as a courtesy and at no charge, since I'd recently stained my mahogany front door and applied several coats of marine spar high gloss urethane to it.
If you're looking for the and quot; WOWand quot; factor as opposed to the and quot;Aww crap what was I thinking?and quot; moment when you stand back and look at your home after someone paints it, I'd say hire Repairs Unlimited to make your house look and and quot;feeland quot; like a showroom. These guys know prep work is 75% of the effort which ultimately translates into a great finish on any surface. But please, do me a huge favor and call them after I'm done using their services so I don't have to stand in line behind you!
I'll continue to update my review of their work as we move through the remaining two phases scheduled for January 2013.

"
