"Mr. Lopez was fantastic. He replaced rotting wood on 2 external French doors and installed a new external kitchen door which was trickier than expected. Excellent work and a really nice guy. "

"Bought home that was total redo. Bathrooms and kitchen gutted, walls removed between rooms, electrical redone and interior gas lines run and new fence in back with peek-a-boo gate for my furry love. Danny was recommended by my sis-n-law who did work for her and her neighbor had baths and kitchen redone. I saw that work and had him do bid which was the only one out of four bids that I knew he saw my vision and gave that bid. Felt like I wasn’t heard with the other three. Danny took time in the bidding evaluation to go thru each room and listen to what I wanted and I now have a “brand new” old house. So let Danny from Danny Did It do it to you. I’m very happy with my home and all the work he did and looking forward to our next exterior face lift. J. Brittain"

Customers say: Quick response

"My project was a rehab of my large screened porch. Involved replacing the screen and trim, and most importantly replacing/repairing some of the framing. Eric s workmanship is excellent and the porch is better now than when it was new. The trim work in particular is very well done. I highly recommend this business. Excellent value for the work."

Small jobs welcome

"Jose and his team were open to my many questions and offered their professional suggestions when installing my bathroom wall tile. They were also very mindful of the rest of my home and protected my floors and cleaned at the end of their workday. They were punctual and arrived daily as scheduled, no unscheduled skipped days or late arrivals. One of the tubs which was installed began to leak, however, they responded quickly and resolved the issue without hesitation."

"I recently had my door refinished by The Door Refinishing Company, Inc., and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Don, who handled the refinishing, did an outstanding job. The door looks brand new, with beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail. He was professional, punctual, and took the time to make sure everything was perfect. The entire process, from start to finish, was smooth and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend The Door Refinishing Company, Inc. to anyone looking for top-quality refinishing services!"

"Scheduling an appointment: I called on a Friday night at 7:30pm, thinking of leaving a voicemail to be called back as early as possible. To my surprise, somebody replied immediately and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Punctuality/Friendliness: Worker showed up on time (within 4 hour time bracket), after calling 20 min advance, very friendly and polite, great. Work quality/Professionalism, Part 1: Main problem (broken spring) was quickly identified, fair quote for replacement. I mentioned a couple of things I had noticed as a side effect of the spring breaking (door slightly bent, unhook cables...), was told this would not be a problem. He clearly knew what he was doing, no hesitation and very efficient in replacing the parts and putting back everything together. Towards the end, he showed a little frustration in things not being installed properly by the previous contractor (8 years prior). Everything great until here, and I expect for most customers needing this kind of work, the experience would just be great. Work/Professionalism part 2: After installing everything back together and trying the opener one time, the door started grinding for a few seconds and not moving as expected. At this point, after spending 2-3 minutes looking around, I was told that the original installation was incorrect; that as a result the garage door opener gear was stripped (could tell from noise), and that it was not worth throwing money at it to repair the current setup, that instead I would need a brand new installation (>$500), and that it could not be done until sometime next week, that he had another job to go to afterwards; so our interaction was done for the day. After he left, I grabbed a wrench, tightened up a couple of nuts, readjusted the limits on the garage door opener, opened/closed the door 50+ times and this works better than it ever has, took me 2-3 minutes at most. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this. The job that was done was done very well; and I understand that someone would not want to put his name on an installation that doesn't meet their standards, as my follow up fix may work for a limited time only, who knows. But I would have preferred to be told that, rather than the conclusion that the entire installation had to be replaced with no hope of it working again. As bad as my setup is, it had worked with no issue for 8 years, and the problem of the day was caused by a regular maintenance item (broken spring), not the installation itself. So I would have preferred for him not to give up after 2 min of troubleshooting and presenting the upsell at the only option. Also I would have MUCH prefer if all those installation issues (that apparently looked pretty obvious), would have been mentioned before starting the initial repair, as at the end of the day I was given a confident diagnostic with a $250 repair quote, and $250 later was left with an inoperative door that would cost me an extra $500+ to repair. Overall, I would use their service again."

"Summary Good: My initial experience with this company was wonderful. There price was competitive, the sales person was initially very involved and responsive, and the initial installers were extremely professional. When problems arose with the second installers, the installation supervisor was responsive and professional. Bad: The final product fails to meet significant functional needs and expectations that were clearly expressed pre-purchase. The design flaws have not been addressed. Initially design flaws resulted from misinformation or a misunderstanding of the product by the sales person, but design flaws have subsequently been disregarded and dismissed, entirely. Our Story Our bathroom remodel included a complete rebuild of a double shower (tear out of existing framing, pan, etc.). To minimize potential problems with a frameless enclosure we consulted with Houston Shower Doors. We arranged for a sales person to periodically inspected the progress of the remodel and inform us of any adjustments needed in design or construction. When it was finally time to install the enclosure, my sales person and I discussed our options and he took the final measurements. My shower and drop-in tub form a 90 degree angle, which means an enclosure with a 30” pivot door would hit the tile wall of the drop-in tub. Considering the height and weight of the frameless door, I felt it was unsafe for glass to collide with porcelain tile, and I did not want rubber stick-on bumpers in the middle of the newly remodeled wall. We were given two options: 1. Add a three inch panel, past the wall of the drop-in, and reduce the size of the door to 25” (+$100). 2. Use double corner Hydro-sliders (+$600). Although I preferred the sliders to the smaller door, my sales person assured us that the smaller pivot door would stop at a 90 degree angle and, therefore would NOT hit the tile, eliminating justification for the extra cost of a slider. The initial installers were AMAZING! They were very professional and took the time to inspect everything. When THEY found a scratch on the glass and a piece of the hardware, they took it back and brought a new one. After months of fighting with sloppy contractors, my husband and I were a bit surprised and utterly delighted to have installers that took so much pride and care in both their work and my house! Up to this point, I would have given Houston Shower Doors a 5 (A+) rating. The shower was absolutely beautiful, the price was competitive, the sales person was attentive and respectful, and the installers were wonderful. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. After installation, I noticed (problem #1) the door DOES NOT stop at a 90 degree angle, and therefore hits the tub! I immediately called my sales person, who said he “needed to look into the problem.” An hour later, I had to call him about problem #2, which led to problem #3, #4, and #5. When we used the shower for the first time, (problem #2) the water poured out of the bottom of the door. My sales person said he would send an installer. He also informed me he had spoken to the manufacturer and (problem #1) admitted he was wrong about the hinges stopping at 90 degrees. He said he could give me $200 off the shower. I told him I was not happy with this, because (A) I paid an extra $100 for a (B) smaller door that (C) my hits the wall, and (D) still do not think is safe. He suggested I could use rubber stick on bumpers (which I clearly stated before purchase- I did not want!). I suggested he find a reasonable way to correct my original (primary) concern about the frameless enclosure before we discuss a discount. He said we would revisited this when the other issues were resolved. We also agreed that the second portion of the payment would not be drafted until ALL issues were resolved. The second installer informed us that the shower was leaking because (problem #3) the shower head sprays directly on the seals and (problem #4) the wrong seals were installed. Problem #3: we would need to change the shower head to a rain head (pointed down). Although fairly easy to correct, it should have been brought to my attention during the design stage of the remodel (as that was the reason we had a sales persons involved in the design process) so we could have moved the shower head to a more appropriate location, like the ceiling or another wall. At this point, I needed to purchase an s-shaped extension arm that raised the shower head and then pointed it down (x 2 if I wanted matching showers). Moen extensions that match the shower heads cost $150 per arm (total $300). So we bought off brand extensions at $55 each (total $110), but the color of the metal is not an exact match to the shower head. Problem # 4: when the second installer changed the seals, he left visible air bubbles in the silicon and silicon all over the glass. He also drilled a (problem # 5) second hole in the tile (still not sure why), and misaligned the pivot hinges. We reached out to the installation supervisor, who was very professional, and corrected the issues immediately. The second hole under the hinge is not ideal (considering the entire rebuild was a result of water leaking through tile in the shower), but he has assured us it will not be an issue. Before we even had a chance to try the new seals or resolve the original problem (#1), I noticed Houston Shower Doors drafted the 2nd payment (with a $200 discount). I called my sales person. He told me he gave me a discount, and I had a life time warranty on the seals (in-case they leak again). I asked him what I was supposed to do about the door hitting the wall and he told me that I really do not have any options. According to my sales person “it is not like they can just reinstall the enclosure, as they have already drilled holes into the tile…Besides, it is not really that big of a concern because I do not have young children.” After politely expressing my concerns again, he said he would go to home depot and by a door stop, then asked if I wanted him to “just buy it or install it too…” I have heard nothing since. Clearly they have decided to disregard my concerns, and I am tired of trying to justify them. Although the shower is beautiful, all of the time I spent in consult was a waste of time, as (1) my major concern have never been properly addresses and (2) I was forced to modify the shower to accommodate the enclosure despite consultations intended to circumvent this. Overall, I ended up with a smaller door, ugly rubber bumpers in the middle of my new tile, and spending over $200 correcting issues that resulted from use of a pivot door. I have been forced to justify my concerns, which have been completely disregarded (despite the fact that they were raised before purchase) and dismissed as though I am just being paranoid. I guess “girls” tend to be paranoid about “silly” things, like a seven foot sheet of glass falling on my “5 year old niece” when she "not so" gently opens the door into the tile:( To sooth my "girly" nerves, the company gave me a discount of $200. How kind of them to almost cover the cost of a “smaller door” ($100) + off brand, non-matching, extension shower arms ($110 + tax). Had my husband and I not been misinformed (by the sales person) we could have installed the sliders and probably would have had a much better experience in the long run…"

"They have a flat rate. It might have been a lot bit cheaper if you pick it up and I think my son picked it up from the factory and brought it back to me because I needed it before they could deliver it. You save $75 or something like that. I keep using them because they make sure it is clean. The way they do area rugs, they have to hang them up and let them dry. I have dogs. So if it has any odor to it, they start the process all over again."
