"Steve Cantrell was very responsive and honest.  He checked our roof for possible hail damage, and found that there was none.  While checking the roof, he saw some gaps around some of the vent pipes and a raised nail.  He took care of these without charge.  We also need to have some fascia boards replaced.  He committed to having a reputable contractor contact us to do this work.  Cloud Roofing, and especially Steve Cantrell, will always be the first we'll call for roofing needs. <br />"

"Due to a hail storm I needed my roof replaced. I shopped and compared several local roofing companies. Ameritex Roofing quoted me a good price compared to their competition and they were able to schedule my roof install quickly. I spoke with Laurie and Bryan on several occasions. I decided to go with higher quality impact resistant shingles. They were both very responsive and very professional, and they answered all of my questions (even after the job was done and they had been paid). Their estimate provided detail on exactly what work would be accomplished. Some companies do not do this. On the day of install there was a brief delay before they could get started however work went quickly after the crews arrived. The overall work took slightly more than two days ( I have a large house ). Prior to leaving each day the work crews will cover and protect your roof. On the 1st night after work started a heavy rain came. I inspected my attic during and after the rain and found no water leakage. My roof looks great. I highly recommend Ameritex Roofing!"

"Everything went well; delays due to weather, but he always called or stopped by to update us on project status;  workers always on time;  when one worker quit suddenly, the contractor came and completed the work himself. <br />"

"Had Phillips Painting out to bid our house for exterior paint and some wood rot / carpentry repairs. The price (ask for discounts) was where I needed it to be. Once I chose them it was about 3 to 4 weeks till they did the work. They call you every week and let you know where you are scheduled. They stuck to their schedule and showed up on time they day they said they would. They were amazingly fast (repairs and paint) completing the job in 2 days with a couple hours for touch up. The house looks great, they cleaned up after themselves (did not leave a mess at all), had a great attitude even when we pointed out touch-up areas. They were great to work with and I will use them again for the inside of the house. Thank you for doing a great job!"

"<p>I called Tradition to get an estimate to repair my damaged roof.  Brent Fuller the owner promptly returned my call and came by to look at my roof.  He showed me several areas of wind damage and agreed to give me a estimates to replace the roof on my house and out building. He indicated that I had wind damage and recommended that I contact my insurance company and agreed to meet with the adjuster. He and the adjuster inspected the roof and worked on the claim details, so I didn't even have to work with the insurance company  Within a week I received a report from the adjuster and a claim settlement from my insurance company.  I had previously received quotes from several other roofing companies and Tradition's quote was in line with the others.  Tradition's quote included premium materials, shingles hand nailed with 6 nails each, lead flashings, new ridge vents, proper starter shingles etc.  I also received a 7 year workmanship warranty and a lifetime shingle warranty.  They even installed a weathervane for me.</p> <p>The project was scheduled within a week.  The impressive crew of 6 or 7 arrived as scheduled and completed the project in two days.  They were very meticulous in removing all of the debris from the old roof and in picking up the nails from around the house.  They also protected my pool, bushes, and plants from the debris and swept for nails with a magnetic broom at least five times. The men worked very hard, didn't spend time on cell phones, did not smoke on the premises and left everything very neat and tidy.  The workmanship on the roof is astounding.  After the crew was finished the foreman came back the next day and swept again for mails and picked up any remaining small pieces of debris.  Brent came by a day or two later with another man who went up and inspected the workmanship and completeness of the job while Brent again swept for nails.  The following week the insurance adjuster came by and did a final inspection and indicated that the job was complete and well done. </p> <p>Communication with Brent via email and telephone through all of  was outstanding, quick responses to all my nit picking questions, and he did what he said he would do when he said he would do it.   My expectations were fully met. </p> <br />"

"They did a good job. I would recommend them to others. They were fast and they got the job done a lot faster than we expected. They also cleaned up everything as well. We didn’t find any nails or trash in the yard. We were very satisfied with the price. They were not crooked, and were very honest with us. We have not had any problems with the roof since they installed it. We have nothing but good things to say about Premiere."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Denison, TX

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
