"I had to hound these guys to fix their mistakes and messy install. Took several trips and I eventually got so sick of asking that I let them win. I should not have. They do not know what flashing is...so if you have them do a metal awning of any kind make sure you give them lots of photos of how you want it to be waterproofed. They just jammed as much caulk as they could up into the massive void between the awning and my house and it looks awful. What I received on install day was not the right color and they left off an entire section of the job claiming I never asked for it. It is right on the work order in writing. The owner made it right by giving me a credit but I had to push them to do so. Be careful!"

"Patrick is friendly, but the workmanship is poor. I hired him for two repairs, and both were done inadequately. The first involved exterior trim. The trim was replaced, but the caulking was incomplete and never corrected despite raising the issue. The final cost far exceeded the initial estimate. While on the roof, Patrick and his partner also damaged my new shingles. That repair alone cost nearly $3,000, which they paid only after I threatened a small-claims court filing. The second project?repairing loose chimney bricks?was also done poorly and left unfinished. Mortar was slopped onto the bricks, the bricks are still loose, and there is no mortar cap. I requested a refund since the work must be redone by a qualified professional, and it was refused. Do not hire. The only reason I learned of the extent of the damage and the substandard work was that roofers later documented it."

FAQs for metal awning or patio cover installation and replacement projects in Denver, CO

Yes, you can paint your metal awning using oil-based paints to give it a fresh new look and protect it from corrosion. Oil-based paints are durable and help preserve the awning's structural integrity. Keep in mind that painting an aluminum awning costs $2.50 to $3.50 per square foot. Be sure to hire a painter who specializes in awning painting to get the best results.

Metal awnings are incredibly durable and offer excellent protection against the elements for your home. They resist sun, rain, and snow, keeping your space safe and comfortable. Stainless steel and copper awnings provide outstanding longevity and structural integrity, while aluminum awnings are more affordable without sacrificing performance. Plus, their sturdy construction can improve energy efficiency and boost your home's curb appeal.

While metal awnings are durable, they can be more expensive than other types, so they might not be ideal if you're on a tight budget. They also offer fewer customization options compared to fabric awnings, so you might have limited choices in style or color. Additionally, metal awnings are fixed in place and harder to adjust, so you won't be able to raise or lower them easily based on the weather.

Yes, metal awnings can increase your home's value by enhancing its curb appeal and providing more usable outdoor space. Their sturdy design not only improves the look of your home but can also contribute to energy savings. If you opt for motorized awnings, they add a touch of sophistication that can be especially appealing to potential buyers when you're ready to sell.

Metal awnings can last 20 to 30 years with proper maintenance. To keep them in good shape, regularly clean them with a vinegar and water solution a few times each season to prevent buildup and corrosion. If your awning has electronic components, be sure to service them routinely. Taking care of any damage promptly will help your awning perform its best and extend its lifespan.
