"Efrain came several times to the property so we could discuss design aspects. He was so patient with me as well as the changes I made each time before I got a quote and he started work. We had a difficult area to have work done in Venice being in the middle of the block and our back alley too small for a standard construction truck to fit. Efrain investigated and figured out the best way to get the excavated soil out as well as the pavers and road base onto the property. Efrain is a man of great character. Once work began, he and his staff were incredibly respectful of our tenants, the property, and our neighbors. He was an artist in several areas, he leveled each and every paver by hand as well as used his expertise in concrete to direct areas for water to drain from the property during rainfall. When I decided to do change orders, he didn’t take that opportunity to charge me a vast amount of money because he knew I had no choice if I wanted the work done. He and his staff always cleaned up after themselves and made sure no one would be in danger of walking across an unsafe area. The best way to clean most pool decks of grime is with a pressure washer, though you’ll need to research the material of your deck to make sure you don’t damage it. Always pretreat the surface with the proper cleaning agent and test your pressure washer on a small area before cleaning the whole thing.
If you want a proportionate pool deck with lots of room to relax, simply make it the same square footage as your pool. If you instead want a walk-around pool deck, first take the length and width of your pool (e.g., 10’ x 20’), add four feet to each side (i.e., 18’ x 28’), and subtract the area of your pool (10 ’x 20’ = 200 square feet) from the total area (18’ x 28’ = 504 square feet).
