The area was full of weeds and we couldn't grow grass but now we have a beautifully green area installed by a great crew who were absolute professionals. We had a special request of the crew for where the transition occurred between the turf and other areas of the yard and they were more than happy to make it happen. We have rock edging and many river stones around the area and the crew ensured the turf looks great in those areas. I will hire Jeff and the crew again when we look to expand the turf area in our yard."

The workers are professional, attentive to detail and unceasingly polite and friendly. Our most recent job hit a snag when the fencing that D&D had included in the estimate was unavailable because of damage from late-winter snowstorms. No problem: the workers built a fence for us instead. The change in plans probably added two days to the planned schedule, but there were no complaints, no griping about additional cost and no changes to the final price. Having dealt with many contractors over the years, I've come to appreciate how rare it is when they show up on time, complete the job to spec and charge what they say they will charge. "Unfortunately it took him so long to come out to quote the job (and then finally quote it) that we couldn't do the job we wanted anymore due to watering ban restrictions. Unfortunately, but I liked him and I like supporting a growing business-so we signed up for their fertilization program for our existing lawn and I asked him for quotes for replacement projects that we could use the big deal on, I still haven't gotten those quotes, and I still haven't received any fertilization services that I signed on for-despite many assurances.

He is a super nice guy, and I would love to have done business with them, but they just seem overextended. I sent him an email today expressing my frustration and letting him know I will be requesting the refund through Angie's List. It's really too bad-we basically missed out on being able to secure the necessary services for our landscaping needs because I kept giving this guy a break when he'd say, this week, then next week, then, still not done."

"We interviewed a few contractors and most agreed on the same strategy for dealing with the problem: an internal French drain and sump pump. We chose Scott from Affordable Masonry b/c he seemed the most experienced in dealing with this issue. His explanation of the problem and what he would do to address it was very clear. His write-up of the proposal was brief but contained all the useful information. He was open to being asked questions and gave truthful responses. We agreed on a date and Scott and two other men arrived promptly at 8:30 to begin the job. They worked very hard all day and did everything they said they would. An unexpected problem arose and we negotiated a reasonable compromise. They finished the job around 5:30 and the basement was even cleaner than when they began the job. A few tests of the new system demonstrated that it was working as planned. We feel confident that we have addressed the issue and confident that we could call Scott if a problem arose again."
