"Truly is a quality company. Replaced our storm damaged roof and installed upgraded gutters and downspouts. The crew were so efficient and the cleanup of our yard was so good would not know such extensive work had been completed. New roof looks so good. Was a small issue with a couple of the new downspouts and the owner Jason personally came out and completely resolved the situation without any fuss. Would highly recommend Evans Quality Roofing."

"Great company to do business with! Highly recommend Easy Siders! Owner, office staff, and work crew were great to work with. Professional work and quality materials. Project started & completed without delays. Work site was cleaned up at end of each day. Our new deck and screened in porch project turned out better than we could have imagined. We will definitely be using Easy Siders for any future home improvement projects!!"

"WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM THIS CROOK, HE IS CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED. TKO Roofing/Harrisburg Roofing and BJ Cevkto are a complete fraud. Additionally he is grossly incompetent and unqualified to do any roofing work. This Con man goes around swindling people for money claiming to do high quality work. Unfortunately he has never put a roof on properly in his entire career. After a year of his "work" the entire ceiling started leaking ( please see pictures). Apparently he did not put on any Flashing on the roof either (Roofing basics 101) and when approach for a refund, he flat out refused. He also put nails through our shingles (see pictures). Absolutely disgusting that people like this are allowed to prey on hardworking families. STAY AWAY"

"Second time we've worked with Joyland on a full roof replacement - couldn't be more pleased! The process was handled professionally and with great communication. Ross began with an in-depth meeting to REALLY listen to what we wanted evaluated and our time constraints. He did a great job answering ALL our questions, examining our roof from the inside as well so there would be no surprises. He even identified chimney work for us to be aware of to get repaired. We had no idea it needed work. A crew was on site within DAYS to start and 2.5 days later, our new roof was COMPLETE. The workers were great and left the property spotless at the end of each day. Conrad - project manager - stayed 100% on top of the daily progress, keeping us informed at all times, even with some rain issues to work around. Taylor in the office was very efficient with all billing and contacts. Another roofer wanted over 75% paid BEFORE any work was done - Joyland had very reasonable terms! MANY THANKS - great job!"

"First and foremost, Premier were the only roofing company in the area to actually call me back when I had a leak. We decided to go ahead an replace the entire roof then and there. Their crew were absolutely amazing and efficient. They were timely and polite. We had some issues with communication over materials but Premier went out of their way to resolve them. One particular instance had the owner himself over to install a skylight blind. I would definitely recommend them."

"Poor installation quality, lack of follow up for warranty coverage. They sub out to local contracts with apparently no quality controls. Gunner put on a new roof, new siding, new front doors, and new gutters. Not one of those was done to complete satisfaction. They covered my dryer vent with Hardie board which could have caused a fire if I didn't smell the burning smell while I was doing laundry. My front 2 doors came in the wrong size after 8 weeks and they had to reorder which took another 8 weeks. Finally, the doors were installed improperly: surrounding trim too short, covered a gap under the step with flashing, and didn't align the doors properly. The flat roof part had to be redone 3 times and it still wasn't properly installed. The property manager at the time, who has since left, was very nice and gave me $1500 credit. I had 2 other roofers out since to look at the problem and both said the flashing was installed improperly and they have to pull off boards etc and this will co"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Duncannon, PA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
