"Kent Thompson is an amazing electrician! We will definitely be having him back in the future when we have more wiring jobs. Kent is really down to earth and what I would consider an "old school" electrician. He doesn't have a team of dozens of people or a big web site, but he does know his stuff about all things electrical. Unlike the big outfits, he doesn't charge a fixed price based on a pricing book - he writes out a detailed estimate for time and labor, and recommends changes that can be made to save time and money. He doesn't carry an iPad around or respond to text messages, but he shows up on time and gets the job done, and doesn't ask for a deposit to start the job. His prices are definitely more reasonable than the other two companies I talked to. I've always done electrical jobs myself, but we wanted to add a new circuit for a car charger, and I wasn't comfortable getting into the breaker box for that kind of thing, nor have I done any work that would have required permitting or inspection. I called Kent and he worked with me to find a time for the initial estimate - he came out after I got home from work one evening, which was great for my schedule. One of the main reasons I went with him is he spent a lot of time during the estimate discussing options with me and doing a thorough inspection of our current wiring, and just establishing a good rapport. It took about a week before I got the estimate, but he warned me of that ahead of time since he was working on a big job out of town the following week. Once I got the estimate and reviewed it, the work was scheduled very quickly - within a week. The morning of the job, he showed up very early, as requested - 7 AM. It took a bit longer than he originally expected, but he still honored his original estimate. The inspection went very smoothly and the work looks great! He did call me once or twice to clarify something, so great communication all around. I can't recommend Kent at Northwest Sound Electric highly enough - he's your guy if you want high-quality electrical work done at reasonable prices. He's also very good at explaining things, whether you're familiar with electrical work or not - I really enjoyed talking with him and hearing how he was going to do the work."

Once he got to work, he remained focused and was very gracious and accommodating to answer any questions I had about the job. "They were great. Mary and Max came out to our home one evening and sketched out a complete design for the lighting of our front yard. We requested this both for aesthetic and safety reasons (outdoor steps that could easily lead to falls). They worked with us for about three hours and completed a comprehensive plan to accomplish these objectives. A couple of months later they came out and implemented the plan. My wife and I are absolutely delighted. Both objectives were masterfully satisfied. The front of the house is beautifully but very subtly highlighted. The pavers and stairways are easy to identify.
