"MOLD REMEDIATION! We recently finished a kitchen mold remediation at our old Victorian home in Northampton, MA. (Advanced had successfully completed a mold remediation of our entire basement and a first floor closet over a year ago). A couple of months ago, we had discovered that we had a tremendous mold problem under our kitchen sink counter resulting from water leakage and careless drainboard practices. Also, our 10 year old refrigerator was filled with mold in the motor area. My wife is highly allergic to all mold so we were in a panic upon this discovery. We called Konstantine, the owner of Advanced, and he was at our home within 3 hours to look at the situation. Within days, he and his crew were at our home removing the 12 feet of pertinent wood flooring, cabinets, and ceramic tile...anything with mold or close to the mold. He was concerned about saving our long expensive Corian counter and had his crew scrape and remediate the entire underside. We were totally impressed by his responsiveness and his actual concern for us. My prior experience in getting mold remediators to look at situations in the past was AWFUL.....they took forever to get to our house, and took equally as long to get a date they could do the work. In fact, one company never provided us with a tentative date! Although Konstantine and his crew were and are extremely busy, he made us a priority given my wife allergies. Also, they took all the necessary precautions of masking off the kitchen from the rest of the house, and used huge air scrubbers to suck out the toxic air during and following the actual work. Mold remediation is an unregulated industry so it is essential that a consumer chooses wisely. Konstantine and his crew are dedicated, hard workers who care about and know what they are doing!"

He easily coordinated with a third person who I arranged to be home at the time of removal. Removal was quick and efficient while being careful not to damage anything during the process. Our property has a low spot, and when it rains it creates a huge puddle (pond!) on one side of the driveway. Because we will be doing some driveway work, we needed to remedy this situation first.  Using both Angie?s List and other sources, we obtained estimates, many of which were quite high and the proposals seemed to be overkill for our situation. We contacted AJ (M&M Construction) and he responded quickly to meet with us to discuss the project. We had sent him pictures of the issue after a rain so he could better understand the problem.  He listened to our concerns, discussed options and give us his best solution and sent us a proposal the next day.

Based on our meeting with all the contractors, we decided to accept AJ?s proposal.  He was very knowledgeable, professional and willing to listen to what we had to say (which other contractors were not...one contractor came without pen or paper, asking us for some, even called his office several times asking how to use the equipment to measure the job!!). AJ stayed in touch concerning the scheduling of the work. The job needed to be coordinated with the driveway job and AJ worked with the contactor to ensure the drain would be placed appropriately. That saved us a lot of phone calls between contractors and left us feeling confident there would be no issues between the two jobs.

The crew arrived on time, got right to work and worked to get the job done in one day. AJ and his crew worked very well together. During the digging of the trench for the drain pipes, they ran into a huge buried tree stump that must have been left during the house construction. AJ offered to remove the stump, rather than work around it, noting that, as the stump rots it might cause sagging of the new driveway. He gave us a fair price to remove it and after some effort, he removed it and dragged it away. Even with that disruption, the job was completed in one day and completely to our satisfaction. After the drain and drain pipes were installed, they raked out the area, leveled it and left it ready for the driveway contractor. They even reseeded the area that was affected by the dragging of the stump.

We have had a number of construction projects done at our home and often we never saw the supervisor or person in charge on the job. But AJ was there from the beginning to the completion of the project. To us, that is important. If there is an issue, we know it will be addressed immediately.

M&M Construction did the job from the beginning estimate to completion (and them some!), exceeding our expectations.
