"We had a leak in our shower but we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. We had 3 companies bid and we went with Nordic Tile. Andrew gave us a detailed quote and a good response as to what he thought the issue was. We ultimately needed to get our shower completely redone. Which was a better situation then having to take out an entire ceiling and new plumbing installed, etc. This is our rental property and we don't live locally. Andrew did a great job at working with us over the phone through the entire project. He shopped at Home Depot for the tiles and told us the positives and negatives with the tile options I wanted. He was able to start the project just a few days after the bid. From tearing it down to finishing it, took 4 weeks. The entire project took 7 weeks. Andrew doesn't install the shower door. He can help you with the right company to go with but it takes awhile for it to come in and install. The new shower is modern and we had him increase the size to slightly bigger than 36x36. He replaced the old shower pan with new penny tile and dark gray grout. We also had him add a tiled shower caddy and rainfall shower head. Looks amazing!"

They did a great job of evening out the floor and setting the tile with no protruding edges. This last January (about 2 years later), we decided to replace the kitchen flooring with tile, and totally remodel the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms (marble wall tile, corner highlights, floor tile, a shower/bath niche, new vanity, lighting, plumbing fixtures, toilet, etc.). You can install new tile over an existing backsplash, but pros recommend taking the old material down first. Layering tile creates a gap where moisture can collect and makes it harder for the new adhesive to bond. Removing the original backsplash gives you a flat, clean surface, prevents interference with outlets or countertop space, and helps the finished project last longer.

Measuring your backsplash area is essential to determine the exact amount of tile needed. Begin by measuring the height and width of the backsplash in feet, then multiply these dimensions to calculate the total square footage. Do not adjust for small outlets or minor cutouts; only subtract the space occupied by large windows or significant obstructions. Finally, add 10% extra to account for waste, ensuring you order the precise quantity required.
