"We were completely new to these multi-projects, but the experience was really great! Mr. Joe Stubenhofer came soon after our initial inquiry, and we walked him through our main dilemmas of an unsafe walkway & the backyard being too wet & bumpy for mowing. We found his laid- back personality yet his obvious knowledge to be a perfect fit for us! We wanted terracing for our walk & a small flower garden, other than that, Joe had free rein to make initial plans...and we were absolutely delighted with the design! While reviewing his design he sparked my interest & a couple visits to his nursery choice (Johnstons on Wales Rd) took place along with floral changes. Also based on our concerns, Joe suggested shifting our patio idea over & once things were spray painted out on the ground, we found his spot to be far better (By the way, his crew was awesome and walked us through width changes for the new path & patio.) With every question we had, Joe's team had answers, and we would TOTALLY hire them again!! They were knowledgeable with our questions, hard working, easy to get along with, listened to our concerns, & guided our changes. They added safety and a charm to our house that we didn't know it could have, and the drainage in the back is much improved & newly planted grass is growing! Hats off to you all!! (p.s.--It will look worse before it looks better. lol We were able to see paver color options with staff at our local Aftons prior to ordering. Keeping our project with local companies was important to us!) Have had wonderful compliments since completion, & we absolutely love it! ** B on rates (we wanted to use local, so really didn't look around...had an idea of potential costs with what a friend had done elsewhere) & responsiveness ( due to email stuff, calls were an A )."

"The salesperson David was very honest and had no interest in upselling. He strongly advised against any interior drains for my basement, and he instead recommended an exterior drain called HydroBlox for my backyard. The estimate for the HydroBlox was $3,400. The installation occurred a few weeks later. Three employees used a machine to dig a trench in my backyard, and then because of utility lines, they hand-dug another trench in my side yard. They installed the pieces of HydroBlox and covered them with dirt. I expect the HydroBlox to properly drain the water from my yard, but if they do not, then I will update my review in the future."

"Dave told us we'd need a week for the job to be done.  He started on time, removed the old grass and topsoil on the first day.  On day two he put in the landscaping fabric and the gravel and tamped everything down.  Then the gravel sat for two days so it could settle.  Luckily it rained so that really helped to get things settled in.  On the fifth day Dave and his crew were back.  They tamped everything down again and made sure the yard was level and that there was no standing water, that the drainage was good.  We have a large pond in the yard.  All of the stone was removed from the edge so that the pet grass would be laid underneath.  The pet grass came on a roll of 15' by 25'.  They spread it out and then cut away for the pond.  The piece was fitted perfectly to the area and then nailed into place.  Once it was down sand was spread over the grass to help keep it in place.  Then using an electric broom it was swept into the grass so that it wasn't noticeable.  Once that was done the large rocks from the pond were replaced.  It looks WONDERFUL!  The dogs love it, it feels great underfoot and it will never, ever need to be mowed!  Every little detail was attended to so that the pet grass looks great.  Dave even came back the next day and mulched a bed for us so that everything in the yard looked neat and clean.  He said a week, it took a week.  No extra expenses popped up along the way - - the price was the price.  Dave and his crew were neat, courteous, and careful.  I couldn't ask for anything more.  I'd use David's Landscaping again without any hesitation. <br />"

"From start to finish, Brent, Mike, and their team did a very professional job. The price was a little on the high side compared to the other bids I got but I don't mind paying extra for quality. Any joker with a truck can put on siding, but the guys that hung this siding were all about attention to detail. You know they are confident in their product because they gave a six year warranty on the installation. I highly recommend these guys. Trustworthy and detail oriented. Hard to find a contractor with these characteristics today."

"I have used Yardmaster for most of the mowing season. I have been impressed by the professionalism from the first contact with Melissa to schedule the initial consultation for quote, to the client representative Chad George's knowledge, and to the courteousness of the gentlemen who come to mow my yard. Their prices are competitive and their services are vast. I would recommend Yardmaster for small to large jobs. <br />"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Edinboro, PA

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
