"We were very impressed with the work and knowledge Chris and Leslie provided to us while servicing our house. We originally had scheduled for a cleaning to have a smoke smell removed from prior renters and while they were here they brought other issues to our attention. Long story short, all issues were resolved in a professional and timely manner. Not only did they get the smell out of our house they provided us with vital information about what they did and why they did it. Also, they provided us with information to help us maintain the air ducts to prevent further issues. We will definitely be using their services again."

"The test kit came promptly. We prepared it, sent it back, and received the report the next week. The report itself was quite limited, and not nearly as in depth as the annual report filed by our municipal water company. We expected more detail and were disappointed."

"The repairman came right as scheduled and did  a great job preparing to install the new faucet.  He removed the old faucet cleaned the sink surface completely, and installed the new faucet without difficulties.  I was also offered a good protection plan that I deemed worthy of getting for further discounts on visits.  The plan seemed very reasonable and worthy  of the homeowner's time to make in inquiry about this.  Clean-up went well and all underneath sink items were put back in place. <br />"

"I had purchased a new home and I wanted to have the A/C checked out.  They checked it out and found that the coils needed to be replaced.  They could have easily taken me to the cleaners but instead they checked and the A/C was under warranty.  I only had to pay for the labor for that issue.  I also had them do a complete cleaning of the system as the house had been on the market for about a year before I purchased it.  I had used them in the past at my old residence and I got the same kind of service...they are trustworthy.  Rest assured that if they say it needs to be fixed, it does.  They won't make stuff up to charge you more.  In the past when I used them they were honest with me in telling me some things that could be done but that were not necessary when other might have taken advantage of the situation.  They aren't the cheapest out there as I know there are some other companies that might charge a bit less.  However, I don't mind paying a slightly higher price because I know they are honest and do good quality work. <br />"

"It was an excellent experience since calling their office, the secretary was very nice and knowledgeable since I had questions not only about repair and materials used but how to proceed since I also had to deal with the insurance company to pay for this job. They went out of their way to help me deal with the insurance company, who did not want to cover the cost, by speaking directly to them and explaining in detail the damages to my roof, and the insurance company agreed with them and expenses were approved. The job was done in a very professional matter. Santos, the person in charge of overseeing the job, was kind in answering my questions and provided in detail all repairs done. They also cleaned up after the job was done, making sure no loose debris was left. I highly recommend them for their honesty and professionalism and also for putting the customer needs first."

"<br /> Hess first came to check out and clean our central Heating & A/C around 15 months ago. They were available the next day, and they arrived at the start of the two-hour window I was told they'd arrive within. I was so impressed w/ their knowledge and professionalism that I agreed to sign one of their service contracts, which I've recently renewed for a second year. That first visit cost me around 400$, as something (a 2-pole conductor?) was recommended for replacement, and it was replaced at a discount, seeing as I agreed to  sign a service contract, paying the full-year in advance (155$). The faulty part was shown to me in contrast with the replacement part.  The tech stayed for around an hour, half of which consisted of him patiently answering my questions.A few months later, the outside unit started roaring and stopped cooling. It was a weekend. I called Hess, and they had someone over within one hour. The tech (the same one who'd come out the first time) fixed the problem within 30 minutes and charged me nothing. Maybe he was rectifying a previous mistake, but I was happily surprised at the speed and cost of the fix. A year later we had another regularly scheduled maintenance check. Once again the tech (a different one) arrived at the start of the two-hour window I'd requested. (He, like the previous tech, slipped on little shoe covers before entering the house.) Finding that the condensate drain line on the inside unit was nearly clogged, he took it outside and cleaned it out w/ a hose. (He showed me it before and after the work was done.) He also washed the coil and replaced the blower run capacitor (?) after showing me the used part. Total cost was 110$. (I now pay 19$ a month for my service contract.) Finally, last week, the outside unit started roaring so loudly it woke us up as we slept. I called Hess a couple days later, a tech came out that afternoon, fixed the problem in about 10 minutes, and charged me nothing.... Several years ago, using a different AC company, I was forced to go without AC for 11 summer days, waiting for parts and tech availability etc. Paying 19$ a month to eliminate such uncertainties is worth it, in my view. "

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Edinburg, TX

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
