"Lost my power to my basement living area, due to using a space heater, that over loaded the circuit...Phil responded quickly and came over right away to access the situation and scheduled to come over the following day to repair. I found him very responsible, knowledgeable, and courteous. I would highly recommend and will continue to call him for all my electrical needs...."

"Guys were professional and knew their stuff. Arrived on time, too. Solved my issue in 15 minutes. 'Was completely unprepared for the over $500 bill! My regular electrician was too busy but this was a fire hazard which demanded immediate attention. Wouldn't book with Baker's company again just because of outrageous price."

With over a decade of electrical experience, I provide reliable, detail-oriented service as a solo electrician. My expertise is in residential work, including service calls, remodels and new construction, with additional experience in light commercial projects. As a smaller company, i focus on quality over quantity, taking on projects that allow me to deliver personal attention and dependable results. I'm committed to clear communication, clean workmanship, and building long-term trust with every customer.

"The generator was delivered when promised, and the installation went smoothly, even though there was a slight glitch in the fact a part sent with the generator was incorrect and the installers had to wait for the correct one. The price was exactly what I was quoted, and I would recommend Next Gen to anyone looking for a Generac. Looking forward to getting the installation completed by my propane company in the spring."

FAQs for generator repair projects in Ellsworth, ME

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.

Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.

Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
