The meeting included a video that Jose shot while on our roof in which he explained not just the issues that were found but WHY the work was needed. He patiently answered all our questions and never pressured us into agreeing to anything. It's our money, it's our decision, he said. After meeting with Jose, we didn't hesitate to sign a contract immediately to get the work done. One of the biggest factors in signing was that the folks who do the work are company employees, not contractors. Fast forward a few weeks later and Paul Camarro and his crew showed up at the house on time and ready to work. When they were done, Paul showed us photos of the completed repair work, so I knew they delivered as promised. Jose is in the process of making a follow-up appointment so that he can inspect the job and make sure that we are completely satisfied. From Cat Vaillancourt and Mary Kay Macfarlane in the office to Jose to Paul, every person we dealt with at Vaillancourt was fantastic and professional. They were clear about their schedule and were very responsible about communicating with us.  If there were a day that they would not be on site, they let us know ahead of time.  With the exception of a snow storm and an illness, they were on site five days a week from the first week in January till the second week in February, 2016.  

By the completion of this project, Colonial Restorations had made significant and important structural repairs to our barn.  This work was done with care, craft, accuracy, and to code.  (All elements of this project were examined and passed by the building inspector.)  Most important, these repairs respected and worked with the existing structure and materials of the barn.
