Small jobs welcome

"My yard hasn’t looked this good in years! It has been covered in blackberries and another invasive species for the past 4 1/2 years since my husband’s death which was my main concern, but they had gentle suggestions for the rest. My favorite was the incorporating of my collection of large white quartz and granite river rock from the banks of the Rogue River from our many vacations on the coast and the use of my mother’s (an avid gardener) statues which they put to good use. (Didn’t realize I had so many of the latter!). They unburied some of the plants I had forgotten about, readjusted climbers, saved my roses, daylilies, a rhodie I thought was dead, and a lilac I thought some previous worker had killed, put weed fabric over every space before replanting the few plants I bought, showed me how to replant with new plants. I’ve had neighbors comment on my “new” front yard and friends on my back yard. And I really enjoyed them!"

"I use Sticks & Stones for a wide variety of lawn maintenance and landscaping. They are very easy to work with, give me lots of options, are reliable, and know what they’re doing. But for me, if I’m going to have workers visiting my house so often, I need to actually LIKE them and get along with them. Jeremy and Dee are LIKABLE, and very pleasant to be around! They wind up getting really dirty, soaked in the rain, cooked in the heat, but they never complain. I’d highly recommend this company for their attitudes as well as their abilities!"

FAQs for landscape soil, sand, mulch and rock delivery projects in Eugene, OR

Topsoil packs your garden with the nutrients plants crave, improves soil structure, and lets water drain at just the right pace. The result is a welcoming planting bed that makes routine chores—like weeding and aerating—far easier. In short, quality topsoil boosts fertility, builds stronger root systems, and keeps your landscape looking vibrant season after season.

If you’re tackling a large area and have room to store extra soil, bulk delivery almost always wins on price. Bags cost more per cubic yard but arrive clean, sealed, and easy to haul around tight spaces or raised beds. Match the option to your square footage, storage space, and muscle power, and you’ll find the most cost-effective and hassle-free choice for your project.

First, measure the square footage you want to cover, then decide on a layer—most gardens thrive with 4 to 8 inches of fresh topsoil. A 40-pound bag spreads over 12 square feet at a depth of one inch. Multiply your area by the desired depth (in inches), divide by 12, and you’ll know exactly how many bags to load in the cart. Using this quick formula guarantees even coverage and a healthy, vibrant garden bed.
