"We were very pleased with the skill, hard work and professionalism of Guerra and Son?s. Our home had not been painted in several years. Thus, some major upgrading was required. The interior of our two story home (except 2 bedrooms and master bath) had drywall repaired and was repainted. Additionally, cabinets in our laundry room and in an upstairs bath and one new exterior door were repainted. The crew worked very hard and stuck to the work over a two week period. We chose SW Emerald paint. What a difference an experienced painting crew can make. Additionally, we had the crew replace mirrors, lighting fixtures in two bath and a vanity in one bath. Great people to work with! "

"Randy and his team worked diligently to paint the rooms I specified on our walk through. They arrived on time everyday. All of his employees were friendly and helpful, answering any questions my wife or I had. We felt that the price quoted was reasonable, but Randy and his team went above and beyond (filling cracks, screws that poped in the drywall etc). Just little things that most contractors would not concern themselves with. After seeing the quality of Affordable paintings work we had additional areas painted, also at reasonable prices. I would not hesitate to have Affordable Painting work for me again and would recommend them to family and friends. I am very very pleased with the finished product. Well worth the investment."

"Alex Williams led a team from College Works Painting and completed painting the exterior of my house in June, 2018. He was professional throughout the job, communicating regularly, and delivering quality work right on schedule. I would recommend Alex who clearly has a grasp on how to approach painting projects in this his second summer with College Works."

"<p>Even though she is a very good painter I am done with  her services.  I declined to pay her more after she hired a helper and was disrespectful to me and expected me to pay more than the bid.  Because she was always squeezing other jobs and came late too many times and put me off and only once stayed all day I have terminated any future business.  This was door and trim paint and took WEEKS.  Still isn't done because she refused to come back to do touch up, fix door she didn't put back correctly, and slopped paint on the wall due to rushing, and didn't put back a door knob.  The refuse to return to finish because I wouldn't pay more for the wrap.  This is a shame because she is a good painter and very knowledgeable, but needs to coordinate better and finish before she expects people to be put on hold all the  time.  I wish her business to be successful and if a customer can tolerate the numerous delays she would be fine.  I was dozens times patient than most people would be  Had other jobs for her (now will be someone else) to do but it's over.  </p>"

"Everything went well. However, Mark, the owner, overestimated the amount of paint I would need for the house. So I now have over 2 gallons of expensive paint --cannot return the paint to Sherwin Williams because it was tinted. That does not make me happy. I would rather Mark would have underestimated than overestimated. Now what do I do with that paint? <br />"

"I contacted Vance for two separate jobs. The first was to see if they could lay down carpet and reinstall or replace baseboards in my basement. That call was never returned and I went with another company. The second job was for painting my living room with a high cathedral wall, stairwell, and upstairs hallway. I had to call twice to get someone on the phone and eventually scheduled an appointment for a quote. Just a few hours before the scheduled appointment I got a call saying that (Jim?) got held up at a job site and asked to reschedule. For the reschedule, he was a no-show. We had planned on asking for a quote on redoing some cabinets in our kitchen while he was already out there, but the no-show cost them that additional business, along with the painting job. Additionally, we ended up deciding to just have provider we selected do our basement painting instead of doing it ourselves. <br /> It was apparent that our quote request was not important. Subsequently we won't be doing business with Vance. <br /> If we had been contacted ahead of time for the second visit, I probably would have given a 3rd chance. We however were out of time so had to make a decision and move on with our lives. <br />"

"He is excellent! He's meticulous, and he does an extraordinary job painting. The house looks great, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. He removed quite a bit of wallpaper, which is a time-consuming task but he went above and beyond. This isn't the first time I used him, and it won't be the last."

"Fantastic.  The water pipe had burst due to the below zero temps.  After we had a company come out and fix the pipe, Randy came out and immediately started to fix the damage from water stains and drywall damage.   The time taken to fix the area was about 12 hours due to letting the mud, sealant, and paint dry.  He was very professional and knowledgeable on the best way to fix the problem and ensured everything was done perfectly.  He answered all our questions from start to finish in detail and what we would expect to see during the duration of  the construction phase.   <br /> We will definitively call him again for any painting or drywall issues. His prices were within the budget and very reasonable for anyone's pocket book. <br />"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Eureka, IL

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
