"They were excellent but they are expensive. I told them what I had in my mind but they are very knowledgeable and experienced about what they are doing. They know what season to do and which plants need to be treated and how. I can't falter them in any way for their knowledge of the plants and I felt like I was better off with him telling me what needed doing. He told me what to plant and what not to. They suggested that I take things out that I really didn't want to take out but they have been right in terms of the health of other plants. It was a very satisfactory job. I used them based on the recommendation of a lady across the street as she had used them and she said they were good. They cleaned up all the branches. I got what I paid for. They were willing to work with me."

"This is the second time I've used Paul Bunyan's to take trees down in our back yard. I was provided a quote a month or so prior to scheduling the work and they kept in touch routinely as we set out to budget the job. <br /> As usual, they showed up on time and got right to work. They had all of the necessary equipment and people to do the job and they tackled the biggest of the three first. They worked diligently and quickly over several days to bring down all three trees very quickly. What I considered the most difficult tree to bring down was actually the easiest for them. We had a 35+ foot pine tree about 12 feet from our pool and directly on our property line. Much of the tree hung over into our neighbors yard and I was skeptical that they could do it without some sort of incidental damage or without putting a ton of debris in the pool. They had all of the limbs off of it and topped it within 45 minutes of starting, and the entire tree was down within an hour. I pulled a few small twigs out of the pool and some saw dust, but that was it. Not a single limb ended up in our neighbors yard. <br /> There was some damage done to our fence during the job but we discussed adequate compensation for the damage. The fence was quite close to the 50 foot oak tree so it was understandable to me that something like that could happen. Paul made it very clear that he would take care of it as soon as it happened so it wasn't an issue in my mind. <br /> They came in on budget, on time, and the job was done as I asked it to be. They cleared the limbs and leaves, didn't leave a mess, and inspected all of the yard prior to leaving. I would use them again for any trees I need taken down or trimmed, and I use they regularly for firewood. Their prices are very, very reasonable for both. <br />"

"My wife and I were impressed with Jamie's ability to quickly identify the various trees and shrubs in our yard and with the advice he offered on when/what to trim. He provided a written quote on the spot and his price was reasonable, so we decided to enlist his services. His crew arrived on the day promised and came back a few days later to finish. When they were done, the mulch was spread thick and even and the trees looked great. At no additional charge, they also removed some dead branches, cut down an unsightly tree stump, and added some mulch to cover leaves left after I trimmed some bushes myself. <br />"

"Called the company to get an estimate on a stone pathway and spoke with Mr. Manley. He very courteously explained to me that they were currently scheduling about three months out. That would not work for me. He then, at my request, offered the name of someone who could possibly take on the work a little sooner. I appreciate his honesty and professionalism."

"Their workers were all undocumented and they were forced to fire them. The owner thought he and his son could manage the work themselves, which they couldn't. Without telling us they just stopped coming and doing the work while we were out of town.  They did not call, email, or stop by - just didn't show up and do the work.  I would not recommend Live Oak to anyone."
