He’s done several projects for me so far: replacing my exterior French door frame with brick molding, installing a new interior window sill, and adding drip edge/smart siding trim around the exterior of the house. Every job was done with care, skill, and attention to detail. And he left everything clean when the work was finished, which says a lot about his professionalism. Beyond doing great work, he’s just a great person. "As part of our replacing carpet with LVP flooring, we had to reconfigure a handrail with spindles. The spindles had to be removed from the underlayment, a plate needed to be installed, and the spindles needed to be reinstalled. There was some trim work which was needed on the stairwell side of the handrail as well. The really hard part was that it had to be done with very little lead time. Aaron and Bonnie came and reviewed the project with us, talked about our options, worked up a very acceptable quote, and gave us a date for their work. The whole project took them less than a day and was done to perfection. (We were uncertain at the time as to how we would finish the wood, so that was not included in their scope of work.) Their work was precise, on time, and affordable. Watching them work together was a fun side-benefit. Good people. We would highly recommend Aaron Custom Carpentry for projects such as ours. "Mark was ill for his first appointment but did call to reschedule, which I very much appreciated. He came to my house, on time, for his rescheduled appointment to look at my door. It had not been closing for years. He did a temporary fix, which helped in the interim, but he told me the door needed to be rehung. He did not charge me until his worker, John, came out and rehung the door. It works perfectly now, better than when it was first installed. I learned from Mark on his first visit that his business is a kind of handyman service too. In addition to fixing the door, John did some other odd jobs for me. He worked hard and did good work. I was not excited about the caulking job he did, so I took off a 1/2 star for that. I only took off a half star because he did many other jobs and did professional work on the rest. My only other complaint is that on the two occasions John came out, I was told he would be here at 9 am. Both times, Mark contacted me to say he had scheduled John elsewhere first thing in the morning. I appreciate that Mark's communication was good and kept in contact about schedule changes. That is not the norm for contractors, in my experience. I just would have liked for John to be here both days for the FULL day so more could have been accomplished. However, i was only charged for the time he worked, so I can't complain about that. Overall, I would recommend MHK."
