"I would give 10 STARS to Sandro & his team of professional! A+++ work! My lawn never looked this good!! Sandro responded IMMEDIATELY to my inquiry last week and on a Saturday afternoon, in the rain, drove to view my property and provide me a quote of all the work that needed to be done to my neglected front and back yard. I am NOT a green thumb and had let the property go...weeds were abounding, over grown trees and shrubs.. it was a mess and I was on the verge of being fined by my HOA. Well, I finally needed to make the investment in my lawn and it was a true blessing to find GRASS BARBER LAWN MANAGEMENT. He provided a VERY VERY fair price for all the work that I needed for the front / back lawn and will also be maintaining my lawn care every two weeks by cutting the grass and keeping up with the shrubs/plants. I would recommend Sandro 1000 percent! He got right on this project by the next weekend and his team worked ALL day getting my yard in tip top shape! Thank you!!! I was looking for simplicity and to clean up all the over grown areas so I could start fresh and he delivered exactly what I wanted!!!"

"They came out and did a good job. I wouldn't buy it again. It was fine. I don't remember there being a problem. We still had stuff in the backyard that we had to get rid of ourselves. It was just how the deal was."

"In my opinion the appointment went flawless. Every expectation I set for the job we met effortlessly. The crew that performed services for me were prompt, courteous and even took the time to explain when I had questions. My favorite part was they left no trace they had even come onto my property. The City Arborist will be my recommendation for anyone needing Tree Services moving forward."

"I hired Hernandez Landscaping & Tree Service to remove 5 of the largest pines trees I’ve ever seen from my yard. They also cut down a huge messy oak tree and a 2 large sweet gum trees. They finished the job in just two days (Friday & Saturday) and were very efficient. They returned a 3rd day just to make sure all of the debris was removed and the yard was safe for mowing. I will hire these 5 guys again! Their equipment did no damage to my yard or my septic tank. I want them to come grind the stumps next week! They will beat anyone’s quote to get your job done."

"They are really good and I would recommend them to anybody.  I have had people asking me who did the work and they wanted their name and number.  They are fair, reliable, and dependable; they are just great.  They are very friendly and professional.  They are going to be doing my lawn and yard and put in a lot of plants next."

FAQs for trees & shrubs treat, protect and maintain projects in Fairforest, SC

The optimal transplanting season depends on your tree species, but most trees respond best when moved during dormancy. For deciduous trees, late fall after leaf drop or early spring before bud break provides the lowest stress periods. Evergreens transplant better in early fall or late summer when soil temperatures remain warm enough for some root growth. Avoiding transplanting during active growth periods helps trees direct energy toward establishing new roots rather than supporting foliage.

While technically, trees of any size can be transplanted with the right equipment and expertise, practical considerations limit what's reasonable for most homeowners. Trees with trunk diameters under 15 inches are most commonly transplanted in residential settings. Success rates decline as trees increase in size and age, with specimens over 24 inches in diameter presenting significant challenges and costs. For large trees, carefully weigh the substantial investment against the potential benefits and survival probability.

Most transplanted trees require one to two years to fully establish in their new location, with larger specimens often needing additional time. During this establishment period, the tree regenerates roots that were inevitably lost during the move. Signs of successful establishment include normal seasonal growth patterns, healthy leaf development, and reduced dependence on supplemental watering. The quality of aftercare during this critical period significantly influences long-term survival rates.

Self-transplanting is feasible for small trees with trunk diameters under two to three inches if you have proper tools and follow correct techniques. However, medium to large trees require professional expertise and specialized equipment to ensure tree survival and property protection. While professional services cost more initially, they achieve much higher success rates and prevent potential damage to your property or the tree itself. The investment in professional services often proves worthwhile when considering the value of mature trees.
