"I had Tyler update my two bathrooms. The first one was updating the tile surround, adding a niche, installing tub shower doors, installing an exhaust fan in the ceiling, and updating the flooring. Tyler is so easy to work with--he kept me updated along the way, asked questions to make sure he understood what I was wanting, and is just a great person to work with! The results are amazing and i highly recommend him for any remodeling/updating you might need. I also had him update my second bath, though it was not quite as extensive as the first--had him update the tile surround, install tub shower doors, replace the existing exhaust fan with a new one, and replace some light fixtures. I don't have a before photo of the second bath, so you will just have to trust that the after is soooo much better. To sum up... Tyler is great at what he does--it is his art--and he takes great pride in doing good work. Highly recommend!"

"I recently had to replace an old acrylic block window in our masterbath. It had developed cracks in several places and allowed water to begin to seep inside on the window sill during heavy rains. I decided to replace it with a modern one piece obscured tempered glass window and contacted several window installers for quotes, including two from major home improvement stores nearby. The store estimators who came out all seemed in a hurry and none spent more than a few minutes looking at the old window for a replacement before quoting me a price. I then went to a third major home improvement store and decided on a new window from them, both for the quality as well as the price. I contacted Mark Grussing with GEM Construction for the installation. Mark came out promptly to look at my problem window. I was immediately impressed with Mark. Unlike the others, he was very pleasant and very friendly. He took his time looking at what had to be done and getting an accurate measurement so I would know exactly what to order, and gave me a quote that was very reasonable. When the new window arrived Mark picked it up and brought it to my house. He took his time installing it and replaced the exterior and interior trim with new. Everything was installed perfectly and precisely. Mark is a real professional with many years of experience. He is precise in his work, a true craftsman in my opinion. I am very happy with the job Mark did and highly recommend him for all your window and door replacement needs, in fact any project he might be willing to undertake. In my opinion he's top notch, the best in the business, and I won't hesitate to call on him for any construction needs I might have in the future."

"I hired this company to do deck repair not knowing whether it could be repaired or needed to be totally replaced. Nick and Joseph did an amazing job in blistering heat. Both very personable and willing to answer all my questions. The owner, Mark Kowertz, was very professional and gave me options/suggestions regarding condition of my deck and what could be saved and what needed to be replaced. Very reasonable in pricing. I have already recommended them to two other folks. You would not be wrong in giving them a call. I would highly recommend them."

"I'll start out by saying that I thought being a veteran owned company they would be OK. I chose them because I was looking for a company that would be able to do other jobs around the house. I think their price was a little high, but I am not able to do these kinds of projects anymore, so I chose them. I should have looked up the prices for all the parts they purchased, but I didn't until after the fact, because I don't believe the amount they charged for the items equals the amount they charged. The manager of the company is very nice and I believe he knows what he is doing. The person who came out to do the projects was nice and was very friendly with my father, who has dementia. The person who came out put on new weather seal on the bottom of the garage door, lubed the rollers and the chain, and put some more weather seal around the door frame of the door in the garage. He did inform me that there was wood rot on the door, so we are going to have to get a new door someday. I felt sorry for him doing it on a cold day. He replaced a burnt-out electric outlet in my father's room. I thought that he was going to turn off the breaker for that, but he didn't, and when he removed the burnt-out outlet, it actually started on fire which he put out by blowing on it. Now, I am a little leery of the circuit, so I am going to have an electrician come to check it. He also replaced a part in the shower that holds the hand-held shower head. It worked fine for a day. I contacted the company, and they had the person come back out. He showed up that day to look at the problem. He fooled around with it but couldn't make it stop leaking. I thought he said that he was going to go get something else and come back, but he never did. I was under the impression that he was going to replace the shower arm and the handheld shower because that's what the parts list said. I would like to give the company a 3.5 to 4. I don't believe I will use them again. I think I am going to be better off just calling whatever kind of company I need to fix something."

"I had 2 pieces of fascia blown off in a wind storm.  I called several companies to get estimates, but every company I called either told me they were too busy, the job was too small or they just did not call me back.  I called Morning Star on Wednesday afternoon and received a call back within the hour.  I explained what I needed (I originally thought it was siding) and Melissa asked if I could send her a picture.  I sent a picture and within 5 minutes she called me back, told me exactly what it was, and told me how many feet I would need.  She also explained that they guys were very busy, but she thought they could fit me in sometime in the next week as the crew would be in the area.  Friday she came by my house to do a color match and the guys showed up on Saturday to replace the pieces (after she texted me and asked if that was OK).  They did an excellent job and were done in about an hour and a half, including clean up.  It looks fabulous and the color matches perfectly.  I can't say enough good things about her and this company.  She was very responsive and even game me pointers about caulking some pieces in the siding where there were gaps.  I will definitely use them in the future as we have some doors that need to be replaced.
