"Bill properly secured a piece of flashing that we stuck on our roof as a temporary solution to divert water draining from an upper gutter to a lower one. He also fixed 2 other minor gutter issues, and performed an overall roof and attic inspection. While the roof and gutters were in good shape he made several recommendations for improvement that could wait until the roof and gutters were replaced in the future. While he was in the attic he also checked out a bathroom exhaust fan vent for us. Overall, the work was completed efficiently and with no mess. Our recent rains demonstrated that the flashing and diverter are now working properly. Bill is very pleasant to work with and educational! The $79 price seemed insufficient for all the work performed, but that is the way they do business. We wish we had called them first, since the price another gutter company charged us to install the original diverter, come out a second time to move it, apparently use an adhesive that was dissolving the shingles, and still not divert the water properly, was more than twice as much."

"Shingles were replaced and in fine order. The only negative comment I have is my roof is older and has some algae or some staining on the north side. You can see footprints where roofer walked across this side of the roof. I complained to Foster, and they said that sort of thing happens due to having to access that portion of roof. However, just a few months before I had a competitive roofing company do similar repairs where they had to access the same side of roof, but they didn't leave footprints, so my conclusion is that if their competitor can do the work without leaving footprints, then Foster should have been able to do the same. I would hire Foster for a new roof, but not sure I will hire them again to replace shingles on my current roof if that has to occur again."

"Roof Genie inspected our roof and determined that we had significant hail damage. They contacted our insurance company, filed all the necessary paperwork, met with the adjustor and then completed the work. We were shown several samples but they were not exactly what we wanted. They kept finding samples for us to view until we found one we liked. They never rushed us, or pressured us in anyway. They were very responsive to our needs and treated us with up most respect and professionalism. The crew was very professional and efficient. They worked tirelessly without stopping, took great care with our house, lawn and landscaping. They kept the work site very clean and orderly and when they were done you would not know they had been there. <br />"

"Decided to give Robinson Roofing a call because of all of the positive reviews.  Called on a Monday am and left a messaged, received a call back about an hour later from Paul the owner and he said he would be over around noon to give me an estimate.  Arrived promptly at noon, gave me an estimate which I agreed to and had the repairs done within an hour. Took the time to explain what repairs he performed and also gave some insight overall to the condition of my roof on that side of the house.  Will definitely call on him again if needed. <br />"

"Mike and team did a great job! They had to remove a significant amount of existing tile as well as laminate wood flooring as well as move furniture before the Pergo could be installed. The final product looks great! They did a nice job of tucking in the Pergo floor underneath the existing baseboard so no quarter-round was needed - it looks much better this way. I recommend Mike and his team and would use them again."

"Very professional. They were extremely careful to clean up after themselves. There was a pop up shower while they were roofing and something g slid off the roof onto a rose bush. They immediately replaced it."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Farmington, AR

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
