He did run into an issue (not of his doing) and was able to handle it. He communicated very clearly to us what we needed to know. We will hire him to install the tiling as well. "I bought an Anglie's List deal to have one room painted for $99.  It turned out that the deal included only the walls, not the ceiling and trim although that was not mentioned in the ad for the deal.  When I pointed that out to AOM, they agreed to include the trim.   They also agreed to paint an exterior door at no additional cost.  I paid extra for them to paint the ceiling for which they supplied the paint.  I had consulted with them prior to 10/2 about the other paint, which I had purchased in advance.  The two men who did the work were prompt and meticulous.  There was a slight problem with the finish on the door which they corrected a few days later.

"They subcontracted the work.  Initial wallpaper removal was by local high school kids and was very slow.  Then one college kid who was even slower.  They finally brought in their pro who did as much removal in one day as the others did in a week.  Needless to say, the entire project finished late and missed a critical date.
The painters were very good where they painted except didn't seem to understand what to paint - I would keep pointing out areas out and sometimes they would include the area and sometimes they wouldn't.  Eventually a foreman got them to mostly meet the contract but it wasted time and caused me stress.  I felt like I was the foreman or contractor when I just wanted to write the check and have it done well and on time.  Sadly it wasn't done on time so all my furniture and electronics arrived before the work was done and ended up covered in drywall dust.
I also paid to have the woodwork cleaned and the wall plates matched throughout the house.  Both those were only half done.  They claimed woodwork just means window trim whereas I meant it to include all the wood.  I also had to go to the hardware store and buy and install a bunch of wall plates (which was not a big deal except I had paid them to do that.)
They also asked me to pay extra to clean up afterwards - I don't know of any business who does any job and then doesn't clean up after themselves.
I believe they have a good reputation, but if you use them make sure the contract specificies no subcontracting and be sure you and they agree on what is and isn't included in the work.
