"Bottom line - hire Nick Testa, he is an exceptional roofer and an all around great person to work with. I posted our roof and gutter project to Angie's List to get an idea of the cost and within five minutes I received a call from Nick. He was easy to talk to and answered all of my questions knowledgeably and professionally. Nick came out within a couple of days of our phone call to take a look at the roof. We talked a bit more about what we were looking to do and he gave us suggestions on a few things that we had not considered. After he gave us his price he wished us luck with getting the rest of our quotes and told us that he hoped he would be the one we picked for the project. Right then we were sure Nick was the professional we wanted to work with. There were no sales pitches or scare tactics, just an honest quote at a fair price (it also helped that he came in lower than the local competition). Once we signed the contract with Nick, he started the roof exactly when he said he would. There was some rain expected the week of the project, so he updated me each morning on what work to expect to happen each day. He had a small, quiet team that had everything wrapped up in a few days. Nick personally oversaw the entire project, he was on our roof each day making sure everything was going according to plan. And everything did go to plan, the end result is fantastic. It only takes a few minutes of talking with Nick to realize he cares a great deal about his company and his customers. "When the heavy rain came after the wind storms, we discovered that we had water coming into the house. I called Ivan, who had done roofing for us before, hoping that he might get the message and get back to me, even though it was a Saturday. Ivan answered the phone himself, and said he would be over in about two hours to tarp the roof. He did so, and gave me a verbal assessment and estimate to repair; because the existing roof was nearly 15 years old and the shingles weren't made any more, he recommended replacement. He followed with a quote for the exact price he had given me verbally - a very good price. He said it would be a couple of months because of the backlog of work, but that the tarp should prevent further damage, which it did, in spite of the rainy, windy spring. Because of the weather, it was longer than he expected before he could do the work, but once he was here, he and his crew worked steadily through to completion. He kept me updated on what he was finding and took care of a couple of unexpected problems. We had to go out of town before he was finished, and I offered to pay him some of the money before we left to cover the cost of his materials, but he said it wasn't necessary - he would meet with me when we got back. The final bill was exactly what I expected, and the roof looks great! And, we haven't had any more water in the house! This is the second job Ivan has done for me, and I would recommend him for roofing with no hesitation whatsoever."
