"I had American Tree Care out in 2012 and they did a great job, so I contacted Ammon last fall about coming out again and doing more cleanup in my yard. I had a dead alder tree that looked like it was about to fall over (but woodpeckers loved!) removed entirely and the stump ground. I had some really out-of-control trees on both side yards removed and stumps ground as well. And some other trees in my back yard, I had him remove what branches he felt needed to be removed in order to clean up the appearance and make them safer, and remove several branches that were hanging over neighbor's property removed so they didn't break off and drop on his plants or yard. My yard looks great and wide open now in areas where there was a lot of branches overhanging from neighbor's yards. (He pruned those back). I also had some wood in back that broke off in a windstorm that his crew cut into smaller pieces for me. They used a chipper to chop up all the branches, etc and left the pile in a place where I could spread them out to cover dirt to prevent weeds and moss. They did a great job cleaning up all the debris from the work they did. Very happy with the work the crew did today and I highly recommend them! Thanks Ammon!"

"We needed a stump removed from a tree that had been growing out an old larger tree stump. That older stump was right up against a fence line and they were able to remove both stumps without damaging the fence. It was in a difficult location to reach in our backyard with the equipment but they were able to make it work. The communication was great through the process and the work was very well done."

"Mark came out quickly to give us an estimate; scheduled the removal and he and his crew came and took down the tree quickly, cleaned up the debris and were very courteous. Would definitely hired him again. The price was very reasonable."

Small jobs welcome

"This company was Profesional, experienced and friendly. We had a large fir tree stump removed from our backyard. The technician had to guide the stump grinder through a narrow space of 36 inches to get to our backyard. He did a excellent job being mindfull of our new garden, fence and stamped colored concrete."

"This company was easy to contact and work with. I had trouble finding a company willing to come out for such a small "job" but Darrells had no issue with doing the work and they seemed to take pride in their job. They arrived on time on the day scheduled and immediately went to work. They actually started the job so early that when I woke up, they were outside doing the work already - and they hadn't even woken me up. When I asked the worker if he had tried to get ahold of me he said no that he thought it looked quiet inside and he didn't want to wake anyone up. I thought that was really nice since I have a baby. He took his time doing the job and cleaned up afterward. You can't even tell that there was ever a big ugly stump there! I'm amazed! I can't wait to plant some flowers now.

"Pacific Arboriculture was great. Very responsive, Christine was very helpful and transparent throughout the whole process. Answered all my questions and concerns and got the job done. There was an issue with their stump grinder but we were able to get it rescheduled and the job done. The prices are amazing. I had three different quotes and they all provided the same service but Pacific Arboriculture was by far the best priced. 10/10 would call again."

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Federal Way, WA

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
