"I'm deeply grateful to everyone involved, especially Brandy, Mely, Steve, and the team, for their exceptional work repairing my home's roof. From the start, Brandy and Mely's clear communication and daily updates boosted my confidence. Their transparency made the process smooth. The team's dedication to excellence was evident in every detail. Steve's decision to replace the sheathing due to water damage and repair the vent system showed a commitment to quality and safety. The Grace Ice and Water Shield installation exceeded expectations, ensuring long-term durability. The meticulous Landmark Triple Laminate (TL) shingle application and flawless flashing on the roof valley not only improved aesthetics but also met high standards. The efficient four-day completion and thorough cleanup showcased their expertise and professionalism. I'm overjoyed with the outcome and give Nolan's Roofing a resounding PERFECT 5 out of 5. I'll gladly recommend them to anyone needing roofing expertise."

"Excellent landscaping company! We had to replace some pavers that were pulled up for a sewer repair, and also requested a big section of sod removal. Fernando called the day I posted to Angie, came out the next day with an estimate, and he and his crew started the next week! Great job all around, conscientious, communicated scheduling well, and nice guys too. Will definitely work with them again."

"Nick was OUTSTANDING to work with from first contact to completion. I have a multi-angled roof line with large variation between gutter-to-ground height. He provided a very competitively priced, accurate bid for the job without even walking the property. I was initially suspicious that it was too good to be true, until he politely explained that he 1) uses online resources to obtain roof perimeter measurements and 2) is able to perform thorough gutter clearing quickly, regardless of roof elevation, because he does the work while ON the ROOFTOP. Sure enough he manually cleared a lot of debris and blew out my extensive gutters in about two hours. He happily offered to return, if the gutters were not draining properly after the next heavy rain. A++++"

"Ernie Haas provided a very thorough examination of our roof which enabled us (after much back and forth with our roofer (DCF Contracting)) to ensure that all necessary and required repairs were made to our roof. Mr. Haas stayed in contact with us for more than a month to ensure that any questions or issues we had were addressed."

"Home Built 2017 First Leak Detected 2022 - Several months outside of 5 year warranty Did not offer to inspect or repair. Axiom came out next day to inspect and within 2 days my roof was repaired (for that leak). Second Leak Detected End of 2022 - Will not attempt to call Joosten's Roofing. When I called about the first leak, Joosten's roofing was very adamant to convey the idea that if roof is outside of warranty, it's not their problem. I understand that a warranty expiration exists, but I expected at least some interest to figure out why it was leaking, or at least offer to come out to see if it is something to do with material (longer warranty from manufacturer), but nothing was offered. Based on that response, I question how worthwhile their warranty is. I can only imagine the effort I would have to put in to get the leak addressed within a reasonable time (what hoops would I need to jump through?) Definitely gave me the feeling that they don't stand behind their work. First leak was material and installation defect. Several other obvious installation defects found in the immediate vicinity of first leak, and rectified. Second Leak - TBD. Honestly, I'm just disappointed and expected better from folks that represent themselves as a family company. FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Ferndale, WA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
