"I would recommend Carl Bongiorno & Sons to everyone. This was a very big job that got bigger as we went along. Over 3,000 sq ft of patio pavers done the right way over a steel reinforced concrete base. A fire pit with bench, a spillover spa, a built in outdoor barbecue area, both rear steps, a retaining wall, a gravel side of house parking area, sod and landscape plantings. Throughout the entire process there was constant communication with Carl and his sons Carl Jr and Garret. They battled mother nature and other contractors with true professionalism. Their equipment is top notch and they did a great clean up every day prior to leaving. As with any project with anyone the more you know about what you want and are able to communicate it to them the better they can assist you with the design of your project. "I had a rather specific and somewhat specialized need for a backyard concrete patio. The project called for a roughly 14x16 ft slab, of 4" thick with wire mesh concrete - and most importantly the entire patio needed to be pitched toward a centered drywell, for proper drainage. For added trickiness, the backyard had no street access, other than through the house, so the concrete needed to be pumped in (which could get messy). I interviewed three contractors and found JGJ Home Improvement Corp. to be the best overall fit. "Mr. Torres was great with all the work we had done. We went to his office where we picked out the color stones for our brick steps and paver walkways. He was extremely helpful with suggestions and patterns. In the middle of the job I asked for an estimate for the side of our house for a walkway and he was able to do that as well as the initial work. The price was very fair and we were very happy with it, we had another estimate for the work and it was astronomical. His team was on time and stayed late each day until the project was completed. Either Sal, his son, or his wife was on site each day.
