"Our house was built in 2006 and over the past 10 year, several of our neighbors have had cracked driveways and foundation issues. Within the first 5 years, we'd noticed minor cracks running north/south through the house and feared there was a larger issue in the foundation. After reading reviews on several foundation repair companies, we scheduled an evaluation with G.L. Hunt because people were saying they were impressed with their service and those that had repairs done were pleased with the results. We were scheduled for an 8a to 10a time slot and Justin Brits arrived right at 8a. He asked us a lot of questions to get a good understanding of our concerns. He then mapped our floor plan measuring each room's dimensions. Marking the center of our house as zero, Justin then measured throughout and into every corner to see where the foundation may have raised or lowered over time. It was really cool to see the measurements across our floor plan and learned the SE corner of our house was an inch higher than the NW. He then walked around the outside showing us cracks and signs of settling. Justin wasn't trying to sell us anything. He was focused on giving us detailed data on the status of our foundation and letting us know if there was the potential of future issues. He went over several things homeowners can do to prevent future foundation problems. We feel much better about the state of our foundation. It was time well spent and Justin gave us the information and education we needed. Should we have any future issues, we'll definitely call Justin with G.L. Hunt Foundation Repair."

Putting plants in the lead position of the design process will guarantee you a landscape that resembles your neighbors and every other house on the street and across the community. It’s like determining the colors you will use in your new house and you haven’t yet designed the house! Like colours, plants are a medium. You must provide context in order to give meaning. This is the hardscape or ‘bones’ referred to in garden literature. Be it a simple graveled path, a grouping of boulders, or obedient deference to existing topography, this is what will provide year-round interest. It is also the framework that will suggest and therefore help you choose which plants and their placement. The end result is an aesthetic and harmonious integration of hardscape and softscape elements. The Walkabout Way acknowledges the on-site environmental realities (ecozone, drainage, sun, shade etc..) and integrating these along with the clients desired outside intentions (active/passive use) as the basis for formulating a design theme. "No question about it, Deck-O-Art is an excellent hardscape contractor. My project included a completely new drainage system for my backyard that ties into the pool deck. This drainage project solves a decades old water penetration issue at my house. Phase 2 was a complete and total renovation of my 40,000-gallon pool, including deck equipment, electrical, etc. Finally, my circular driveway was renovated from pea gravel to beautiful tile pavers, that included concrete dividers that really make it pop. The final result was so outstanding, that I hired Deck-O-Art to renovate a second pool and outdoor kitchen at our country getaway home. I thought that they couldn't beat what they constructed at my main house, but I was wrong. It is simply beautiful, and the new upsized outdoor kitchen is fantastic. You just can't go wrong with Art Manase and his team at Deck-O-Art. They are craftsmen without equal!"
